Pickups with Scooped Mids(JM content!)

Hi guys,
As most of ya dudes at soft know, JM's sig strat has his custom big dipper pickups with "scooped mids". When the term scooped mids is used. Where is the mids referring to?

Is it referring to the (dimarzio's) TOne guide on their page?
The treble, Mids, Bass?
