Pickup combos

I was just wondering, I went to read reviews on 3 pickups, the Gibson 496R, 500T and Burstbucker pro pickups. I was planning to get a Gibson Les Paul Classic, but the reviews on the 500T were not very good, though the ones on the 496R were even better than those on the Burstbucker Pro, so...

Which of these combos would PROBABLY be the best on a LP Classic?
496R & 500T (Original)
or
496R & Burstbucker (bridge)?

Duncan Custom on the bridge + Pearly Gates on the neck

I play MCR, Saosin and Green Day, so I was wondering what pickup suits their music best...

Anyone know what Saosin use? MCR uses Seymour Duncan Phat-Cat and Green Day uses Gibson H-90...

Do the Suncan Seymour Phat Cat Pickups sound good?

trust me, asking this kind of question is like asking "is Katong Laksa taste any good?" Some will say they will die for it, and some other will say that it's just nothing but a bowl of pure cholestrol laden yellow color soup.

GOOD POINT... What do you think?

reviews are personal opinions of the reviewers.
they dont like it doesnt mean u will, like them dont like it as well.
when u play music like MCR or Green Day doesnt mean u have to have the same gear as them. it's all abt personal touch when it comes to playing music.
i play a7x, but i dont use a schecter like zacky or synyster; i used my strat copy or JEM7V and can still sound close to them and i dont get the exact same pickup combo as they prefer. i hope u get what i mean.
if i want the same gear as my favourite artist, i would have 38957048928908786 guitars and 3785692387269478 of pickup combos at the end of my life !

And you still don't get the point?

Go spend some money, buy the pickup, try it. If you like it, keep it. If not, sell it, and buy another one. Only you can answer your question. Asking that kind of question will never get an answer who can satisfy yourself

hmmmm

mcr, saosin and greenday.... they all actually have a slight difference in tones...i play saosin and mcr (at times) i recommend a Alternative 8 SH15 for the bridge to pick up all the nice harmonics yet still getting a slightly warmer tone. Notes are very clear in chords and cuts right thru with clarity if u wanna do those runs like wat saosin's lead does.

Duncan Customs TB5 for ur neck for a nice rounded tone... gd if u dun want ur leads to not sound too *bright* somehow, i fancy this stuff for chords... (dunno y) works well when i wanna play stuff from greenday... kinda like those more melodic runs and strumming.

well, thats just my opinion... to be honest, i believe everyone has their own flavour, find ur own... dun like them... sell them and get another set... but do try to let the sound grow on u... u won't regret. kinda like a gf. after awhile, u just accept her flaws and see other beauty about her.

enjoy playing my fren...

Thanks for the tip. I'll go do dome digging up online about the pickups ;)

hey bro, i dont think the thread starter needs to get a trembucker as a les paul classic uses a fixed bridge,

even if he wants to change pups he shouldnt change it so soon, like probably after half a year or so.

the pups should be good enough for a beginner

why change pickups on a Gibson?

thats so suicidal.they are good enough for almost anything.not many Gibson owners would opt for a change of pickups.

dude stop worrying abt it. i'm dead serious. get the guitar, try it, then see if you like it. if you do stick with it. if you dont, then u post a thread asking for recommedations. the 490R and 498T are a decent pair and i dont think its fair to judge them without even trying.

not all stock pickups are bad. sorry but by looking at the other threads, some softies are taking offence to ur questions. these questions can be answered simply by doing research. and when u get ur guitar, ask the sales person. thats what they are for.

please i'm asking u nicely, stop asking anymore unnecessary questions as ppl will only think of it as showing off. unless u are seeking attention which i really hope not. if u still insist on all this, softies will rmb you and i dont think they will want to answers ur questions anymore.

i'm not taking offence frm his questions. i take them as jokes! cos some are really funny.
but seriously la, being overly concerned or overly excited is just childish. when time past and u look back here u will laugh at yourself man.

dude... tis is my honest words to u.

chill... there are a lot of things to learn n try...
go slowly la... do research etc
no point of having a gibson then u straight away want to change the pups...without even strumming it yet.

my gibson pups are the original ones n the tone i get it is damn solid.benn wif it for many years.
dun go ard starting many threads to ask how to be tis n tat...
be patience n try bro

no no.. not you

ahahhah but in the other threads especially the heavy guitar one. kena flamed to the max. i laughed when i saw the napfa results. i swear i thought it was a joke. but he seems really serious.
