picks wearing down?

sub: imo, one major gripe about the stubby 3.0mm is that as the middle curves inward, that part gets oily very easily n it's also very hard to clean..

as for me, i simply love the indentation, otherwise i have to punch/ burn a hole in them to promote grip. dunno if it's our different body secretions but my picks don't get oily... 8-)

hey beez gave me my fender pick when he was at G77.cool man.he always stuck the pick on his forehead.lol.

I can play with my index finger's nail cause I used to forget to bring my pick around and since i keep my nails for classical guitar, I just try to use it ala an imaginary pick. My nail wears up fast if I keep doing that though...

But i managed to do consistent artificial harmonics with just fingers! Woot! Haha i remember I was quite delighted when i first did that! :D

i think one day i'll invent a super pick that never wears out. but i'll probably lose it. i've never kept a pick longer than a few months before it mysteriously disappears

I heard that if you lose your v-pick on the floor somewhere, turn on a flashlight and it'll shine.

Wonder what other materials can be used for super picks...

My pick can last dam long...

I dunno why.
It's just a Dunlop Tortex Standard Pick, 0.8mm thick. The yellow colour one

For some reason, all my celliloid picks seem to last forever, but my nylons wear real badly. Surprisingly my Jazz III lasts forever even though it is a nylon pick. I also use tortex, mine are the fins. But I find they fly out of my hands all the time.

Now my main picks are my trusty Jazz III and my GHS teardrop since they're both small and pointed so pitch harmonics are very easy for me. Getting my V-pick small pointed soon though, can't wait!

Tried manymany picks.

Today realised.

That the 0.88mm tortex pick pwns all.

I used to cut my own picks out of thick and hard cardboard. It wasn't easy to cut but then they gave a thin sound and folded. Like duhh... Those things were paper!

But that was long ago.

i bought several thickness...
Soft and Flaccid 1 for riffing, strumming (Fast Play)...
Then those HARD and STIFF ones i use it to do plucking (Slow Play)...

Only surface scratches... No jagged edges yet so far...

I also saw once... the ring-type pick... kinda fake fingernails...
and everytime I see those big jar of picks at guitar shops, especially when it is near the door... i just wish I can steal them and run away with it...
Hahaha... So tempting...
