Do anyone know which guitar shop in Singapore sell different types of Stratocaster pickguards?

Pickguards - single-coil pickguards
- 2 humbucker pickguards
- 2 single-coil, 1 humbuckers pickguards

Please I need to know where. Mine is a squier Stratocaster with single-coils. And I want to change it to a 2 humbucker pickguards.

Appreciate if someone could help.
:p

If your Squire has a 3 single coil configuration, I'm afraid just by changing the pick guard would'nt allow you to install Humbuckers in your Stratocaster. (If that's what you actually intended to do.... I was once as naive too...)

You will have to Re-route( Cut and Dig bigger holes for your ultimate humbucker of Doom\m/) the Guitar to make way for the Humbuckers. Which will be a painful and expensive job... Plus, a Squire isn't really worth re-routing for. Unless you are very sure and very determine to use this Squire for life and that the sound of the Guitar is what yo love and you would like the preferred Modification for a Dual Humbucker or Single Humbucker Super-Strat configuration?

As for Pickguards, you can try Ranking Music at Bras Basah complex? They have alot of Guitar Extras there. If you walk around Peninsular/Excelsior Shopping centre, shops like Music Theme or Guitar connection or TYmusic might have the Pickguard you desire?

Do you think its worth it if i change from single coil to dual humbucker?

I am planning to just modifying my squier until it becomes better. Besides, buying a new guitar is kind of a waste as you will sometimes get useless pickups.

By changing some of the parts, we can see what is lack on the guitar and want to improved it.

So yea, i thinks is kind of good on changing it. What you think?

Purchasing of a new guitar, IS NEVER A WASTE OF MONEY.
Buying of a new instrument should always be seen as a long term investment. Guitar wood will age over time giving you a nicer tone there after, when the wood pores start to breath and the density increases....

Personally, my views are that Squire Stratocaster, being a Beginner Guitarist's choice, isn't worth much upgrades, unless the one you've gotten are Limited runs or Vintage 1960s or 1950s?
Even if it is those of the Vintage Stratocaster, all the more you shouldn't mod or do anything to it.

It is not worth modifying a Beginner level Guitar. I'd rather be better off purchasing a new guitar which would satisfy a better sound need. If you like dual humbuckers and a stratocaster-ish body build. You can always look at Ibanez super-strats. You can always look at the GIO series which are more affordable if you're cash strapped.

If you're unsatisfied with stock pickups on the guitars, there's always a choice to swap them out for a different brand, different model of pickup which would satisfy your tonal needs.

Personally, I will always ADVICE AGAINST CUTTING YOUR GUITAR UP, routing or digging new holes for modifications unless you're extremely sure of what you are doing and wouldn't regret afterwards when thoughts of selling it off for money to buy new guitar.
Also, When chopping up your guitar, it is always the Guitar Tone that will be affected.

From what you have describe in your Tread. You wanted Humbuckers on your Stratocaster?
My best advice is to try out cheaper brands of Pickups like Tesla, Sky Pickups and other(I'm not to sure off yet)

You would wanna be looking at Stacked-Humbucker Single Coil Pickups( Not very sure how to package the name of this type of Pickups)
Refer to Yngwie Malmsteem for Stack Humbucker Single Coil sound.

Or Similarly, you might wanna look into the Single Coil sized Rail pickups, http://www.teslapickups.com/?products=plasma-rs1 or http://www.teslapickups.com/?products=plasma-rs2

I
'm just advising cheaper alternative. Because, It wouldn't be worth upgrading a Squire so much.

This is just my $0.05 worth, SGD got no $0.01 so can't give $0.02...

Ok, I change my mind of changing into humbuckers. I think I will stay with single coils. Can recommend me what dimarzio pickups 'Strat' ar good in clean and distortion. I am looking for a one that suits metal not too metal. Like Avenged Sevenfold. Glad if you could help me finding dimarzio pickups.

Thanks:D

You might wanna try Dimazio, I advice you to use their series of Rail Pickups. Rail pickups will tend to have higher output then those of Single coils.

Paul Gilbert's Injectors might be a choice, but for Metal, It may not be the best of choice.

A7X Metal... Hmm... You can try this http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/strat/hum-canceling-strat/chopper or this http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/strat/hum-canceling-strat/fast-track-2?

But for Metal, you're going to be better off with Full Humbuckers... And if further, Active Pickups if you will...
