actually, wife/gf don't really have a say, don't forget, they have their shoes and bags... comparing apple to apple:

her shoes == my pedals
her bags == my guitars

thats my agreement with my gf..she buys new shoes..i get bew pedals...she buy new handbags...i get new guitars / amps...and she has been going to europre recently..tmr she is gg frankfurt...so hahaha...she is gonna shop..
 
hahaha... no gf currently, but the pt is learn songs that will keep 'em entertained, so they will not stop you from hitting the shops... ^.^
 
Girlfriends usually have this reaction, "WAH A GUITAR COSTS SOOO MUCH?" , "Why are you buying so many guitars? Your current ones not enough meh, you have so many hands that you need so many guitars?"

The best reply a guy can give is, "WAH YOUR GUCCI AND LV COST SO MUCH AND IT'S ONLY LEATHER AND POLYESTER?" , "You buy so many bags for what? You have so many shoulders and hands that you need one more?"

Fortunately for me, my gf falls into the "understanding and supportive" category, and never compares my purchases with the relatively inexpensive things that she usually buys.

I know, some of you lads will tell me this, "Wait till she becomes your wife..."

We'll see, I guess. :D

Hey bro, you think they would buy it? Furthermore, ask yourself - how much are their Gucci & LVs when compared to the prices of our guitars? NOTHIN. Unless they buy those big luggage type ones, but how many of these will they buy?

We are in fact spending more than them, but I always do it with dignity & tell them - this is my money, and I choose to spend it this way. Its a hobby, and hobby keeps me at home. Once they hear this, they will guarantee zip up.
 
Ripper, tell your wife. "you rather let me spend my $$ on guitars & stay at home or you rather let me spend my $$ outside & i come home late every day & you dont know what im doing outside????? hehehe

I always tell this to my mum & wife. But ripper, the BFR JP im getting still haven got the green light......
 
leecs: But seriously, add all up also cannot compare with my BFR... But then she also never really complained... Her reaction was only O.o when I told her how much it costed...
 
lucky my gf doesnt fall under the "wah ur guitar cost so much arh!!" category..she has been with me long enough to know wad is a fender,prs,gibson when watching mtv..lol..and my gf does spend alot on handbags and stuff...but well...she spends what she earns..i spend what i earn...the "i buy guitars,i stay home more" works for me too..cos she is seldom in singapore...so she'd rather i stay home and jam then out with friends...hahahaha

Same here - just went for a nose around (actually was vainly hoping they'd have a Roland Guitar Synth that nobody wanted) and ended up being too tempted by the prices. Sat playing the PM120 Pat Metheny Signature for about an hour and just couldn't leave it behind in the store. Beautiful guitar, wonderfully made in every way and sounds so full and warm bodied. She's at home right now. Will post a pic later.

Ken: Sorry bro' - yeah - ultra-busy - was a miracle that I could get out for a couple of hours to go to the sale, but yeah - let's catch up soon!
 
Rossie: How long have you two been together? If its not long, both you dudes are still in 'honeymoon' stage. Wait till you reach my stage when you dudes stay together. hahaha

My new carved top strat
Hi ho, here's pix of my latest project. This is NOT, I REPEAT NOT AN ORIGINAL FENDER GUITAR BUT MOST OF THE PARTS ON IT ARE FENDER PRODUCTS.
