Hey, any of you guys tried out Phil Jones' amps before? Looks interesting: 5 inch aluminium cones only. Unfortunately there's no local store dealing for them here, so other than driving all the way to visit malaysian shops, there's no chance to try them out...

5" not 8".
They electronics are OK, but the cab design is a bit ambitious to the point that the advantages do not give you much value. Multiple speakers in a horizontal format suffer from comb filtering, and the weight of the cabinet to achieve ay credible semblance of extension down to 70hz makes you wonder why you want to do this. They are very very heavy cabinets for decent weight drivers. From an efficiency point of view, the weight ratio is not good, and from a sonic extension point of view, the extension s only realistic for BG use if you use the larger cabinets, which has a severe weight issue and a comb filtering issue.
