Pedal 9v drainage problem

Hey guys,
I have this GEB-7 Boss eq pedal, purchased off from a fellow soft member.
I put in an energizer 9v and used it for a jam (only one day) I left it at home for about 3 days. When I tried using it again it doesn't work, and I've concluded that the battery is dead cos i tried it with another working pedal and it works. Cable wasn't plugged in for that 3 days.
So i was wondering if it is the pedal's problem, or I just simply cannot leave the battery in there if I was gonna leave it unused for a while.
Thanks for the advice! I don't wanna waste another battery trying it.

be sure to check that the input jack is unplugged when not in use, because the battery will be consumed while a cable is plugged into the input.

subversion ever mentioned a while back that he prefers to use non-alkaline batteries because of the way alkaline batteries last longer on reduced voltage. i use an adaptor but i have GP greencells on standby. 3 days is very short though, and this wouldn't be the main problem.

Thanks for the reply!
But I'm not sure if the type of battery is the issue, because I've used the same brand on another Boss pedal and it lasted for like 2 weeks already, the light is still bright.. Maybe I shall get an adaptor too...

check your user manual to see how much power the pedal sucks from the battery. My BOSS CE-2B's battery life is about 14 hours continuous. Maybe you had a long jam etc.

Another could be a circuitry issue .. you plugged out the cable but the circuitry isn't broken to due whatever reason. If it carries on bring it to a tech to check it out. =)
