Paiste

so the 302's are good. i've got one with me for around 1 year already, in comparison to the 201, i think the 201 is better...
Anyone knows where to find the 402?

All are discontinued. The only entry-level/budget series manufactured by Paiste right now are 101(brass), 201(bronze), PST3(brass) and PST5(bronze).

i know that the X02 series are discontinued, but they still can be found in the market.
I know that ranking still sells 302s. i think i saw a pair of 402 hi-hats in sweelee... i can seem to find the crashes.

yeah... so keeping it now as a collectors item? a likely invesment?

unlikely for the ones ur talking about like 302's and and bronze.

maybe im saying this bcos i sold away my 302 hats and crash and the ride is just too loud.

Hey guys, I have a Paiste Dark Energy Mk 1 22 inch Ride, a 15 inch mellow crash and a 10 inch Dark Energy splash. I have to admit that out of all the Paiste models the only ones I like are the Signature and New Signature series. They have this really nice dark tonal quality that just speaks to me. I also managed to try out the Noiseworks series. I believe I tried out the Triple Raw Smash. Man love those Noiseworks stuff. Perfect for electronic music! Too bad they don't bring them in....

New Signature and Traditional has dark tonal characteristics, not the Signature, cept for maybe the newly released Dark Full Ride, and then again, tats not really considered a really dark cymbal as compared to the New Sigs and Trads.

Oh ok. Well I guess it's because I'm comparing the Paiste Signature series to other brighter cymbal lines like AAX and Z Customs. They sound way warmer and more mellow than those. Hmmmm yeah maybe warm and mellow is a more accurate description than dark. Oh what the hell lah I like the sound they produce and that's all I care about hhaahahahahahaah!

where to get orion cymbals in singapore?

There used to be a local distributor. Wee Lee Music Studio (near Aljunied MRT) brought in in bulk from the previous distributor. Those cymbals are the low ends for replacement in the studio.

I did suggest Ranking to consider to bring in Krest - another Brazilian B8 cymbal company - in replacement of Paiste since Paiste is beyond the affordability of the local average drummer...
