Paiste

eh man is ranking the only place for paiste?

Currently yes. Swee lee used to be the dealer. Dats why U can still see some old but priceless Paiste crashes/rides at Swee Lee.

Yah... the old stocks like the 802 series... should give those cymbals a listening... IMO better than PST 5... if the 820s are still in production... it should rank below Alpha and still considered as semi-pro range... good deal in the next SL sales... 8)

yea man i was thinking of that, but i gotta know when the SL sales are again. its not worth waiting a year for.

paiste r indeed very good cymbals. i simply like the dark energy splash that i tried. wanted to get 1, but it was too ex.

anyway if i am not wrong,

now the dealer is ranking, and used to be sweelee. not the other way round.

and istanbul is not value for money. sabians are. especialli even more with the sales. note: i am not talking about sound, but the value of each. in terms of sound, it is all up to preference.

drum hobbist: very very nice collection u hav there. i await your hihat. =P

personally, i think anything above dimension series is a good investment. don't flame me for this, but i seriously think alpha etc sucks badly.

If u read prop, actually tats wat we mentioned, tat Ranking is the current distributor. And Paistes are not very good cymbals, in fact they are 'THE' cymbals for me. :D

Thanks for the kind comment on my collection...

Yup... Istanbul is not value for money compared to Bosphorus...

Alpha is making such an impact internationally that Paiste is continuing on with a revamped appearance... check out other drums and cymbals forums in USA and you will find good reviews of Alpha... remember... cymbals are made to suit a particular music... rock cymbals will make jazz music too overbearing and jazz cymbals will make rock music to lose its punch...

Alpha has different types of hi-hats, crashes and rides for all music applications... take a pick that suits the music you are playing... for example the Full Ride which I have is good for jazz... the overtones are fantastic... 8)

hey 502's really aren't that bad tried some at studios... to my suprise the pst5's also sound awesome for their price, paiste really impresses me with their sheet bronze cymbals... haha but im still sticking with good ol cast bronze... even paiste dark energies... man i worship those cymbals but dont have the cash to buy them... that series is flawless... the heavy china, sound edge hihat, power crash, ride etc etc of dark energies are like WHOA!
rite now im just using an all sabian setup haha... wonder if i shd put in a paiste 2002 crash which might stand out among the casts...

yea . paiste do impress me for their sheet cymbals compared to others. n i am guilty of owning a 18" paiste 2002 crash. hehe

I love my Paiste 11" Innovation Splash.

Bright, cutting and nice decay.

IMO paiste shdnt hav made those 101's 201's crap... the 101's sound like paiste made them just for the sake of making cheap cymbals! cuz many newbies get their first impression of paiste through those crap and they themselves end up thinking paiste is crap... i myself thought that when i strated out, but when i head the dark energies, alpha's and 2002's i was like HOLY! paiste shd hav jus stuck to manafcaturing their intermmediate (from alpha onward) to high end cymbals and thus wld gain and mantain a very respectable image... now some newbie drummers i noe also hav that bad image of paiste (most likely after hearing 101's), all they want is zildjian zildjian zildjian lol!

yea haha they could rank the same as lazer. and i dont particularly like the solar cymbals. damn lousy la! liek thrash can.

solars are so so lar for home practice, my friend uses them... they are not as bad as peaople say them to be... for brass its quite good arleady actually... i dont thinkks same as lazer la... lazer is like WTF, whack the splash can dent already! and lazer is probably like pearl traget and stagestar stock cymbals which are the ultimate crap!!! the pearl target cymbal is just hsduauoahousahdsadsamjdsa... sometimes some people have weird taste and may think certain brass cymbals sound nice? or for me some sound ok... but wa the pearl target cymbal is like the ultimate crap of crap, pitchy is praising it liao... however if u guys dont want urs and u dont want cash for it u can pass to me... im gonna experiment on them and probably end up breaking them unless im super lucky haahahah!!

dropped by swee lee bb today to grab a pair of dave weckl evo sticks...

of course, i couldnt resist and went to open the paiste treasure chest at the tight corner below...

i saw innovations, alphas and my beloved visions still there lolol...

wait for next sale? maybe.
