Paint Stripping

Yeah... I had this crazy idea.

I want to strip my guitar's finish down to the bare wood then add some tung oil to finish it up to a nice natural finish.

Any idea who does this in Singapore? Or is it going to have to be a DIY job?

Cheerio!

Not sure. Maybe Guitar Connection.

They seem to do everything. Or you can get a super fine sand paper and do it yourself?

I doubt I'll ever sand my RG down. Too many signatures. LOL.

But yeah, it IS a tempting idea.

Wah Dan, your guitar is already beautiful as it is. The finish is unique man. What made you wanna sand it down?

Yeah man... the finish IS nice... but but but... I love natural finishes...

Sigh... I guess I'd not do it... the finish is great.. and I can sand it down coz the S is so thin already.. I don't want to heat gun it coz I would most definately burn a few patches... only way is chemical stripping..

Here's an old pic. :)

HOLY SHIT!

ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?!??! SANDING DOWN THAT BEAUTY?!?!??!!

Lol.

Pardon me. DON'T do it. It is BEAUTIFUL.

OK... I wouldn't!

Crazy idea for a moment though...

yea man, if i were you id never sand that thing down! its a beauty. but just in reply of this thread, i think yea guitar connection wld do it. however, last year i sanded away the finish of my custom rig. sanded it down to bare wood. then repainted it. but just a last week i disembled the thing and now am selling off the parts. still keeping the body and neck though, dont look that nice, so wld haf to remove the finish again to sell it.

No need wait for him. I'll say it "FENDERS RULE"

Without Fender = no super strat = no Ibanez

Face it! hehehehe

I'm sorry, did you say something?

Huh? What was that? "Facker fool?" I'm sorry I didn't understand that.

Face it. Without Fender there wouldn't be a lot of things, most notably the superstrats and the 7 stringers. Anyway lets not jack the thread and go off topic here. It's suppose to be about Dan wanting to strip some paint :)
