the drum prob?no,its still powering all the other equipment sound. How do i stuff the pillow in the drum?do i have to tear it open?

oh no no! i was assuming your kick drum had a hole in it already.. if not then u just have to tape something on it like the snare.. think it'd be good if u post a question in the drums section of this forum to ask for tips as to how to muffle the drums abit..

one other thing, i think your first priority would be to reposition the speakers first. In the current position, i think it will feedback no matter what volume u put the mic at.. try experimenting by shifting the speakers around.. sometimes u need to try many positions to find the best.

2nd priority would be to lower the drum volume..

3rd priority would be to try to pad the room, especially the glass windows and the glass cupboard.

cheers. :)

how do i go about padding my room?egg cartons is one of the most recommended things.Lowering my drum volume seems impossible?my drummer is a hard hitter. :)

for a room in the house usually its impossible to get good padding and still make the room look 'nice'.. but things you can do are putting in some sofas(good sound absorber), rugs/carpets, bookshelves against the walls which are full of books(again excellent sound absorption), hanging rugs on walls, heavy curtains on windows(excellent also)....

for ceiling, usually can't do much. So basically u can cover 4 or 5 of the 6 sides of a room (floor, 4 walls and ceiling) which if done properly should be good enuff.

having the wall plastered with egg shells looks really ugly.. hahaha..

When u jam, u may want to leave that glass cupboard shelves open to break up the flat surface.

but for your case, u should really try putting the speakers behind the microphone first and lowering the volume of the drums

honestly, try to get your band to balance out. playing loud is easy, playing SOFT is difficult.

this is a player problem, nothing you can do with the equipment.

drummer hit hard? try using 'satay' sticks bunched together. still too loud? hit lighter.

position the speakers and guitar amps so that it is focused on the intended person.

how does the speakers sound when you playback a CD? if it sound good, then there's nothing wrong with your speakers. bring your mic to another studio to try it out. does it sound ok?

ok..I'll try hanging rags on the wall soon when i have the money.haha.Hey would it help if i were to hang the curtains around my drum.the speakers,i laid it on top one another.and i've put it to one side of my room.would i help?
