progressive death metal, if you've only heard of their Damnation album, it is vastly different from their other works...although it was recorded simultaneously with Deliverance...its totally void of any elements of death metal...

Opeth is so easily accessible rite now as there are locally pressed CDs of their albums from Blackwater Park onwards in which are priced so much cheaper.. Which means any Tom, Dick and Harry will listen to them, which also means a higher listenin base which also means that LAMC might have consider bringing them to Singapore!!

Because Opeth still isn't too popular, Dream Theater isn't as heavy and is generally more appealing to the public.. I could mention drummers that i think are way ahead of Mike Portnoy, for example, Flo Mounier, Derek Roddy, Dave Suzuki, Marco Pitruzzella.. But they're less known because they play for Death Metal bands.. Its sad that the technicality of Death Metal is often overlooked..

but fck it, i love Death Metal and Opeth!
