unfortunately martin lopez has officially left the band a few months ago...axenrot is a worthy replacement and added alot of aggresion to the songs when i saw them live but he lacks lopez's subtle ghost notes and touches..

Yea man bleak was the first song from them that got me hooked! realli solid! Yea so sad that Martin Lopez had to leave... his drumming is so unique... Realli loved his work especially in the damnation album where his quieter side of his drumming techniques realli impressed the shit outta me when i first heard it...
watched the making of damnation and deliverence dvd and thought he was realli cool... pity...

tomhet: i dun realli listen to death metal alot... but i realli thought that opeth resembled death metal most maybe cause of mike's cookie monster vocals, blast beats, heavy riffs and stuff like that especially before the ghost reveries album... I understand they are not exactly death, more melodic maybe.. not a metal geek anyway so not realli so into music classification so wat do you tink opeth is? genre wise?
