OM: April Sky (A Vinnie Moore Cover)

killer job killinghall!!! coming from an ardent vinnie moore fan, i'd say thats a mega kick ass cover u just did! And to play it at prom night, thats just plain radical \m/

:prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

Amptones,

No volume pedal...it's a defretter effect. I threw away the board-load of pedals a few years ago and have stuck with the GT-8 ever since. I use a Gibson Les Paul for this.

Slowish,

Radical for the prom? Hmm, yeah I thought so too. But back, I was only 2 years into learning to play the electric so I guess I would have played anything to feel good....haha. It did feel good, because the end of JC marked an important milestone in my fresh journey as musician!

:)

2 years and your covering vinnie already, kudos to ya! im crossing my fingers in hopes to hear more vinnie/macalpine covers from u man, cheers!

I couldn't play this song for nuts back then, believe me. The other song that actually captured the audience (and my English teacher) was Gary Moore's all time hit....guess you know which one I'm talking about!

heh yeap totally know watcha talking about, that song would have in essense been much harder to play than vinnie moore come to think of it :)

It's in the Time Odyssey album, Hay88...give it a listen if you have the opportunity! One of neoclassical guitars' best...![/list]

OMG love your tone! Sounds really genuine when compared with Vinnie Moore's version,

there are a few hitches here and there though, but overall nice work!

what's your rig?

2359hrs,

Yeah, it's kindy pitchy in some areas due to the adjustment of the action. The neck prolly needs some tuning as well.

I've since re-worked on some of the parts to make it sound better.

I use a Gibson Les Paul Studio > GT-8 > G4 Powerbook > Garageband (for simple recordings like this) or Logic Pro.

Yes, Vinnie Moore! Are you a fan of him, Kai?

I heard your rendition of the 80s influences and it is fabulous!

Just got back from Bali - sorry for the late reply!
