Just as my two cents to this small 'conversation',

I played drums for about 3-4? years and only started taking lessons recently. Honestly, the 5-6 months I spent going back to basics right down to how you even hold your stick and the economics of drumming...It really helps if you have someone to guide you along the right direction. That said, I could work my way up to most underoath/saosin songs alone, but I think there comes a point where you're gonna need a little help (:

I think you have a decent kit to play on! Why would it be lousy? Doesn't mean you have to be using professional cymbals and expensive kits to post here!

How long have you been playing? I didn't even have a kit in my first 3 years of playing haha :)

haha lousy in comparison to those kits in the previous pages.
but gotta admit, it serves me pretty well.

i'm envious of retardedrummer's cymbals but i wonder how she deals with the neighbours. with my relatively tolerable neighbours and my quieter than usual kit, i'm already getting a bit of feedback from them about my playing.
and if i had money, i'll get yout artisan ride, though i dont think my other cymbals will do justice to it

been playing for a few years now, but i never owned a set until recently.

eh dont be la. i had zildjian ahmad(sp???) , xs20, scimitar cymabls last time! they were in really old condition. and i didnt like the sound of it. i needed to find my right suitable cymbals. hence i found the HH,AA yeap. To me crashes and effects important.. Had to do my research too:)
Slowly yea. no rush! Your set is really pretty darn decent! Nothing to be embarrassed about! should be proud of urs:)

Ha - The Zildjian Armands are great cymbals. I actually prefer them over the Custom As anytime due to their versatality - but that is just me ...

Do you still have them ?

Very sweet, Ali! Looks real comfy. How's that SS? I nearly bought one on a few occasions, but somehow managed to convince myself not to do it after reading that it was a whole lot of trouble to tune it up. Is it giving you trouble? If you spend enough time with it, it'll kill!

And how's the Legacy treating you?

Thanks guys!

The SS is very nice! I really dig it. It's true to it's name and it sure is sensitive. Mine is sounding great at the moment, not to ringy, and not to dry, like RIGHT in the middle. It's easy to tune, and is imo simpler to use than a regular snare after learning how to use it.

When I got it I initially was confused how to take off the snares :p
but after figuring it out, I realized it's even easier (again imo) then taking off the snares on regular snares.

And the Legacy is GREAT! I love it! It's definitely my favourite cymbal I've owned! At one point I was considering getting a 20" one :D
