Hm, fully closed? Its quite alright for metal.
But when its close, and the felts are set quite loosely, it gives that really nice metal splashy-wet sound :)
 
behold my custom drumset. any orders from my fellow drummers..
all are custom made..i can actually use the rack tom for sleeping. sorry i can't let u all see my custom drumstick...my mom use em for cooking..the brown stool is actually my snare..don't mistake it for floor tom

still using stock skins cause no money :D but it dosent sound that bad
my ride cymbal stand is my camera stand :D with a drum stick to rest the ride cymbal on .. haha
 
Nice kit you got there, PST5 great cymbals too but I think resting your ride on a drumstick isn't the best of idea. It may put too much pressure on the hole of the ride cymbal and may lead to keyholing. Also, you need cymbal sleeves for it too.

I hope it's a temporary solution only. :)
 
yea but i put something below the drum stick so that the ride cymbal is resting on that thing so theres still space for movement :D
