Official Dunlop Crybaby Wah Owner's Thread

Regarding an ealier enquiry I hope this helps about the difference bw 2 Jim Dunlop wahs.

The 95Q is yet aother variation of the Crybaby. The ZW is based on Zakk's modified Hendrix Wah. Which is better? Choices aplenty these days ya :)It'd be best to test drive them urself to find what's most suitable. To each his own. :)

Hmm.

Hi Midnight, I assume that you'd have already been used to the slight delay between the wah sound and the normal signal once you take your foot off?

hey crawldaddy, yea i kinda gotten use to it. Then again, i hardly use it except for certain songs and licks u know. So it hardly bothers me. Its pretty decent still.

hey guys i have a EW95V crybaby, it's a volume wah and it's quite old, i realised that the transition between the lower tone to the higher tone (oooo......owahhh) is very significant at the middle and it isnt smooth at all, can anyone here tell me what i can do to overcome this? or isit very common? which other brands do not have this prob?

hi

anyone know where i can buy a slash wah(SW-95)?

i've only seen one at Ranking at Bras Basah. does swee lee carry it? cos if they do i'm definetely getting one at the next sale.

Ebenex site says call for pricing. which is like no help at all. (i'm too lazy to call i guess :? )

well anyway, at Ranking it goes for $315. anyone else know where i can get it for less? or anyone selling one 2nd hand?

do let me know :) thanks!

p.s. are there any alternative wahs that can help me achieve very similar tones to that of the awesome solo in Sweet Child?

THANKS EVERYONE :smt081

Hmm.

I think it would be wise for you to go down to Ranking or whichever retail outlet to try out the wahs for yourself and see if you like the sound they produce and if you feel that you're comfortable using any of the wahs.

Do remember that a wah pedal (especially the Crybaby models in perspective) is a heavy piece of gear that adds onto the weight of your pedalboard.

If it's not an essential part of your solo tone or tonal diversification then perhaps your could open up your eyes to other types of pedals.

the slash wah is currently out of stock at the moment.

we are selling them for $280.

you can try ranking sports or davis or swee lee. they are dunlop dealers and should be able to help you out.

slash doesnt use his sig wah. he uses a rack crybaby, and his sound is probably in those cranked JCM800s and silver jubilees.
