well...for one, i tried calling naz just now around 9pm to book a room. either he rejected my call, or dont know what. call ended just as i was connecting.

One of the reasons why I stopped going there so often. It's so popular, its so hard to book a convenient time slot, the drums are often thrashed after heavy usage w/o frequent maintenance, some heavy grounding issues with equipment (same as L cube) etc.
But I'll always remember the quality of the place the 1st time I was there (which was quite good) and I take that as a benchmark.

Growlingsoulpup, if you really want a response from Fourtones, the best way is not the forum but by calling them or meeting them. I don't know if they frequent SOFT. If they don't, not only can they not respond to you (which seems to be your purpose here), they will also not be able to refute or concur with you which makes this thread unfair to them.
If the purpose of this thread is to venge your frustration, that's OK. I think we can feel your frustration. But perhaps I can suggest that you try to contact them one way or another - even if it's by writing, to view your point. Being a popular studio, I'm pretty sure they will take note of customer satisfaction/disatisfaction to remain in competition with the other studios.

i question your intention of opening this thread. you say you want to share your experience, and your objective is to find a suitable redress. well you don't need me to tell you that opening a thread like this is not going to achieve any of this, nor do any good to anyone, including the people in this forum. the only thing i could see you gaining from this is something i refuse to believe, which is vengance, because i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt heavily.
i hope you can understand that the only likely outcome of such things is to damage the reputation of the studio. i know that's not what you want to achieve, but that's likely to happen, and these kinds of threads have been started far too many times.

that makes us at a loss... but the fact that it's a good studio is precisely the reason why the equipment is so worn out. and that underlines the reason why people still go there in spite, as their choice is not a mere sum of equipment available. i don't need to go into detail
i agree that this is a proper complaint, not just a mindless flaming of the studio. but i am against ANY complaint being aired publicly. complaints are NOT the kind of thing we should be promoting in these public forums
for heaven's sake, can't we be a more positive and optimistic forum? it would be much better if the whole issue was solved behind the scenes, after which a thread could be started to relate the experience

This is not a defamation thread on pointless basis. Some incidents have to be brought up publicly to keep the level of customer service in check. Contacting them personally to solve this issue is right. Bring up such experience here is not wrong.
I agree growlingsoulpup should contact them directly as they will not be represented here. We'd all like to see how this is resolved. In fact, it might actually up their reputations.

fourtone is one of the 2 studios that i would like to visit.
only went there once to do some on spot inprovisation with my drummer.

Shinobi, I must confess that this thread was fueled in part by annoyance, which as observed before I had tried to temper. If by posting this thread I have invariably damaged Fourtones in any way, I apologise. Part of my logic for bringing this matter into the public was precisely so arguments like yours could be presented to me. Perhaps the thread title could have been titled more diplomatically. I believe, however, that S.O.F.T stands for the Sound Of Friends Together. If I am not wrong, this forum is meant to facilitate discussion of views and exchange of opinions. While it might have been more sensible to keep this matter in private, as I now see, I don't think that my post warrants such strong language. Moderators, please do feel free to lock this thread if I have made unreasonable accusations or behaved out of line.

Nazri and Fourtones are absolutely awesome. Nazri is my most favourite teddybear pornstar sexy man in the world. I have immense respect for him, and don't even need to hesitate for a moment when I say that he is a good man of solid character. I still owe him for alot that he's done for me (and let me get away with).
If you don't like anything at all about Fourtones, please just stop going there. Free up more slots for the people who appreciate it!

Growlingsoulpup, there's no necessity to lock the thread. We all need to vent our frustrations at times, and you have not used strong language in your posts. But accusation you did, no matter how diplomatic, and accusation without defense is unfair to the accusing party.
So on the point of venting frustrations, it's understandable. On the point of a basis for discussion, it's more or less valid. There are many threads like these in the past on almost anything/anybody. But it's still appropriate to take this on personally with them. And hopefully things work out for everybody.

I believe that banning/locking is a counter-productive and interventionist thing to do, and it messes with people because it doesn't allow them to end conflicts and come to a peaceful conclusion.
For example, look at thread about "what is wrong with the music scene". It could have easily been banned for naming bands or getting personal, but the mods allowed it to go on and the people involved eventually saw things they could agree on and walked away with more respect for one another. This allows the community to mature and take care of itself.
Banning/locking should be reserved for serious, unacceptable issues. We already know what those are.

Enough said, fourtones is awesome. Place is comfy equipment is good compared to MANY other studios. Naz is a cool guy. Guys lets just appreciate what we have cause this is really one of the better studios in Singapore. Let's not damage it's reputation or create a hoo-ha shall we?

If U think that this is an issue and u r realli angry at FourTones, please meet the person in-charge i m sure knowing Nash, he dont mind explaining n apologise. but the way it is posted in here is as though Four Tones hv cause the biggest mistakes.
My advise, if u r sincere in what u posted in here, pls do see Nash and resolve things or else, it sumhow shows u making up stories and pursuing all negativities instead.
