O level 2010

:( i feel like crying when you said this. If only i was in the express stream, then things would be a lot more easier;most of my teachers doubt the ability of the secondary 5 students to do well in the o levels and would always compare us with the sec 4 Exp students. It's quite demoralizing somehow to know that a boy who scored 13 points for N levels is struggling somehow to do well in the O's. On the brighter side, when there's a will, there's a way.......so i have to work damn bloody hard. haha, softies aspire me to give my best. :D

haha same though my batch of sec 5 are the one being used as the comparison , i am too stuck in the parts in which to study for SS... and anybody got tips on how to study for geography? any help would be appreciated hahasXD

don't know about your type of geography but for me, its basically common sense and the same answers, its like reading sports in the newspaper and then recalling it to your friends in school.
the score, who scored = the figures and the location.
the more you read the more goes in? thats how i study my humans basically.

I can echo similar sentiments on the comment that the As are far tougher than the O levels..

I meant that it serves as a first experience for exam hall stress (unless you count PSLE.. uh.. hahaha )

I've slogged my ass off in JC, far more than i've studied in all 4 years of secondary school and i still don't get half of what their teaching!

Hope i promote... lol

study the effectiveness part and all the factors and the case studies. and that would most likely be the last sub question of a question. for the first few sub questions, it would be on things like describing from some low quality pictures like some waterfalls and identify the duno what present in that area.

Most of my classmates were quite stunned by these descriptive questions.

That was what happened to my geog (core) paper last year. I don't know if there's any changes now.

oh and use all the L1, L2, L3 thing. it helps you to get the marks.

Haha well i just suggest you concentrate on the 'O's first guys. Worry about promoting later when you're in JC1. I can offer some help to the JC1s, i take H2 bio econs chem and H1 GP. However, IMHO the 2 hardest and most irritating subjects in JC are H1s and finished in J1, they are PW and chinese. Just get your A for PW and it'll all be ok. Don't be a loser like me, slack off during your PI EoM I&R then get B.

how were your WR and OP?

My OP was actually pretty good, my friends all told me i spoke very well. The examiners, all 5 (yes i had internal AND external moderators), were all smiling at the end of my part. Contrast that to the previous group, which did like SHIT. WR can't be the problem, as 3 members in my group got A.

how bad were your individual three things? O_o

CH = combined humanities? lol, please.. do not just study ONE topic for that. I'm from the batch of 09 and i think half to three quarters of the whole batch relied on Venice for SS. And guess what.. it didn't come out!

As for English, paper two is about technique. but it does also require some language skills (for the vocab section/summary/rephrasing of course) Learn to pick out the right words and rephrase properly.

there's this good book you can get.. i didn't get it. but a lot of people have recommended it.. 1001 words or something like that..

key is also to read a fair bit so you have a good grasp of vocabulary..

I know right... i studied for venice.. but i got another chapter to back me up. Terrorism. i knew it would come out although it came out the previous year. oh wells.
I SO REMEMBER ME STARTING THE O LEVEL THREAD FOR LAST YEAR. ahhahahahhaa. THEN AFTER O LEVELS it was like WHATS YOUR RESULTS THREAD> then WHAT SCHOOL YOU CHOOSING THREAD. hahahahhaa. (:

@teleplayer: In terms of time spent: PI: 1.5 hrs EoM: 3hrs I&R: 0.5mins. Yep. And my PI i knew was total nonsense but at that point i didn't care, i just wanted to get it done and over with.

Heh, everyone in my school is arguing about whether Venice will come out this year. Personally i'm studying Venice, Globalization and Governance.
