Nice article. It is still quite generalized, not just targeting at DAW. For example, the knowledge of the audio software/VST etc is just as important. Some software DO NOT support hyper-threading, so even if you have a machine with HT, you may have to turn it off to run that software. In that case, you should not be having a PC with HT.
So before buying a PC for DAW, make sure you know your software.
