Newton shop that over charged suspended

i cannot go on and i think its wrong to go on as well. So yeah, this response, last one, in this thread.

I believe in, its wrong to overcharge, if its really the case of overcharging and not, not understanding the market prices.

the law doesn't punish you if you do shit. the law punishes you for getting CAUGHT

maybe the shop kena sabo by the fellow tenants... or some minister's bro-in-law wants to rent that shop space

Wah. A lot of arguments, but may I just ask, what's the basis?

I've yet to read a newspaper argument writing on exactly what the tourist bought that night, in exact detail. Apart from 8 tiger prawns that weighed 300 to 400 grams each, nothing else validates the high price charged by the vendors. That's fair enough, but how do we know we're not making a mountain of a molehill?

Let's look at the other side of the coin.
What if its really the tourists who were not happy with the price and purposely blew it up just to get back the money?

Yes, many may scoff and rule that possibility out, but we have no idea for sure. The media was very quick to take a fairly bias stand against the vendor, and the tourists are conveniently out of the country. How do we actually know that the tourists were overcharged? Is there a bill, explaining and validating the prices of what items the tourist bought that can be brought to light to clear all matters up?

I went to Newton today. I go to my usual stall. 3 prawns, 900g for $40, so about $13.30 each.

$291 for 8 prawns = $36 each.

BTW the stall is still open today. My uncle friends there told me that they must first receive a letter from NEA before they close officially. They were doing some business still.

$36 prawns, thats gigantic prawns
