Just got my electric guitar (a Squier Standard Strat). Second hand though, I'm 15 and no experience in electric guitar.
Hoping someone would teach me :p, looking for good and cheap amps for playing / learning in my room (Any to recommend?)
Please guide me !

bro- hope you are aware of the above event happening tomorrow. good practice amps available, just checked them out today.

The thickness of the pick affects the sound when you pick the string also known as the pick attack, and how easy it is to pick/strum. For thicker picks, it'll be easier to pick individual notes, for thinner picks it'll be easier to strum.

Thinner picks have a brighter/sharper pick attack, some like Paul Gilbert prefer them because of this, and you get a more articulate tone. Some people prefer thicker picks because, it sounds warmer and rounds of the top end a bit more.

Different people have different preferences, but I prefer thicker picks because I don't like my picks to be flimsy unless I'm playing some strumming stuff on an acoustic guitar.

For now that's enough to last you quite a while. Do you know how to set your amp? Do you have a teacher?

Hmm ok. For starters look up this guy called justinsandercoe on youtube. Pretty good and thorough with his lessons.

u look set to start learning with the gear u have. feed off youtube for ur lessons for now. if u really want a teacher, save up for one. cos teachers dun teach for free. no free lunches in this world.
