New track up

hey man, nice tracks. here's some constructive criticism.

for Dance of the Shrubs, I feel you need to work on the beat a little more. or maybe a lot more.. the snare and hi-hats sounds really dull. try to make it sound less like it was made in fruity loops. I like the main melody, simple and charming, but for a downtempo track it lacks ambience. try layering in some strings a or a subtle synth in the background. Also if you could stretch the transition a little more, it'd work better to create a sense of buildup.

for the other trance track, the intro sounds good though a tad derivative (can i say avb, hehe), but it gets muddled and too repetitive as it goes on. I know this may sound silly to mention repetitive for a house/trance track, but if you add some ambient layers and some mastering it'd sound better overall. Also the breakdown doesn't have much of an impact on me. Try experimenting with more synth layering or add in a counter melody to lengthen it a little, You could even try some weird percussive elements to spice things up. Still, nice effort.

There seems to be a bit of progressive influence in your style. Do check out trentmoller if you haven't. he's pretty big in the prog house/remix scene right now.

hey dir, thanks for the comments, appreciate it. i agree with the beats being somewhat lacking in depth, will work on it, as well as the trance track. its becoming increasingly difficult to add in more layers for the trance track as i'm still on a creative soundcard, as well as a mid-range processor for the cpu, a lot of times i'm maxing out my cpu, causing a lot of problems during sequencing. guess i'll hafta find a way to workaround that.

yeah, i've heard some of trentmoller stuff, been listening to some hybrid and jody wisternoff mixes as well, maybe that's where the influence is coming from. will update here once i add more to the tracks again.
