new song: In The Valley (heavy rock)

Hey this sounds so good! Tell me if you did the guitar recording at home.. ha.. :) Hope you can share what gears you used for the recording, especially the guitar parts... Thanks.

Good stuff bro! Lyrics were cool! The gizmo sound at the start was cool - what I would have done but yours is a bit too loud. And it never came on again. Vy?

But I prefer the guitar tone from your previous songs. More oooomph! there.

Keep them coming - you've been slacking! ;-)

lo fi - thanks for listening man. whole song / all parts were recorded in my hdb flat. gear wise, its a warmoth les paul with PRS tremonti pickups and a Peavey JSX Head / Marshall 1960A cabs loaded with Celestion GT75s. close mic'ed with an SM57. FX is a TC Electronics M350.

Rork!! - thanks dude! you are so right. been slacking. gizmo sound, well, i use it alot on my other tracks, thought it was over-used, decided to just keep it real short on this particular one for a bit of variety. glad you liked it. work and all has been keeping me busy. hope this year i get a little more time with music.

eugenesmasher - thanks dude. there are some groups i enjoy along this genre - can try Building429 and Kutless. But my fav is still Alter bridge!! :) didn't use any pedals. all distortion / crunch sounds are onboard. delay / chorus / reverb courtesy of M350 rack unit. cheers

Thanks for the reply. I also find that your mix down were done very well too. I'm pretty amazed to know that you did all these in your hdb flat.. :P.

Beside having a good ear and the heart for God, what recording tools (mixer, compressor, software etc) are used? Thanks again for sharing. :)

We should do at least ONE song together. Moi busy too bro. We can do it over the Net and with Yeshua's Grace. Together, we may not make mountains turn into valleys but perhaps allow the rivers to flow.

Here's Peace and Wisdom to you and may God's Blessings continue to reach unto you.

hi lo-fi,

well, mixer's a Mackie 1202 VLZ3. monitors are KRK VXT 6, and a pair of Sony 7506 cans. vocal mic's a Studio Projects B3. canare cables and neutrik plugs mostly. good ol' Echo MIA MIDI soundcard. the longest lasting piece of gear in my studio. 5 years and going strong. heh. cheers
