Hi everyone,
I'm doing some shopping for a new sound system setup for my church and due to a low bodget, the setup will be basic.

I need some advice on some value for money setups (mixer, speakers) and also specs.

Basically I would like to know how powerful does the speakers need to be for a 900+ sq feet room and also if we want to use guitar amps and bass amps for guitar and bass, how much watts wld be advisable?

If there are any other areas i shld be looking into, pls kidnly advise, wld appreciate it.

Hi, best to get somebody (a consultant) to your church to have a look. It depends on the acoustics of your church. Positioning of speakers is just as important as to the type of speakers.

I'm not a soundman, just a musician. My bro-in-law church is just renewing their entire sound system. They got a sound person to have a look and it's really pretty complex, acoustic analysis-wise. They basically gave consultation to the type of amp (for the main speakers), type of main speakers, where it should be mounted, how it should be mounted, direction it should be facing, EQ settings, mixer settings etc. They have a second false lower ceiling at the back, which makes the acoustics challenging. They are also running on a budget. A good consultant saves you lots of trouble and headache. And things like these need to be done on the spot - they have to go down to have a look and listen to your church hall.
