VPost - how much??

Hi, like to check if it's not too personal, how much did you pay for the vPost delivery?? thanks!

vpost shipping..

wow! that's not too bad compared to my crappy order of 1kg= $75 sgd via vpost for some books. i wished i could get hold of the fender...*sigh*

mono bag is good, but it kinda destroyed my friend's Fender P when we tested it by throwing down about 1-2m and the area at the input jack is now chipped, lololol .

we thought it was a tank >.>, but yea its waterproof and padded but don't push your luck like we did =D

true true, i've been trying to get the classic 60s Fender Jazz tone, but thanks to their ridiculous recent price hike, most of them got put out of my price range. i got this Lakland because it's modeled after Joe Osborn's 1960 Fender Jazz bass so it should definitely get me there, but also thanks to all the good reviews i read about it.

try asking VinOnBass, he's owned both Laklands and USA Fenders. :)

haha! all the way for Lakland. beats MIA jazz flat down. =)

I own 4 MIA and none impresses me like my lakland. HAHA!

seriously??

and your DJs are skylines right??

i wanted to get a 60's Road Worn Jazz, but now you're making me think of a Lakland Joe Osborn. lol.

haha! nothing against fender but laklands are just more value for money.

2nd hand fenders are still worth it though. Not any first hand imho =)

i did, i tried the Road Worns at Swee Lee, but thanks to the horrible setup, i couldn't get a good feel of it. neck felt good though.

imo, still too much of a price to pay for something you can do to your own bass in due time (wearing it in, that is).

can't remember, but definitely waaaay too expensive for an MIM. they go for USD1250 on musiciansfriend already, that should say alot about the price at SL.

if you really want the relic look that bad, get a Highway One and wear it down naturally by yourself. that was my original plan, but then Fender just had to raise their prices.

haha.. i see.. thanks man

anyways, the look is one thing... worn basses have so much mojo.. but i was thinking i could get the 60s Jazz sound from it.. :???:

but right now, getting a Lakland seems to be driving my GAS mode insane..

The road worn strats are going for only 1399 at bras basah now

really? that means the Road Worn basses are going to be a few hundred bucks more because the RW Strat is going for 300USD less on musiciansfriend, haha.

makes me wonder why basses are more expensive than guitars sometimes. our strings are so much more expensive too, like $30 for a pack compared to the guitar strings at $7 a pack. :(

basses not in that much demand compared to guitars maybe

they want to earn every cent out of every bass customer.. hahahaha

if u want a 60s jazz sound... i suggest u try using flatwound strings. it will sound dead and yuckky. but u'll soon learn about how wonderful the funk masters of the past went about it.

i used to use flatwounds, loved them...but this one came with ss roundwounds, and i'm currently too broke to afford a new set of flats. :(
