Need some advise on what guitar to get.

Washburns are a bit expensive in my opinion but if you have the money, why not? :D

I think Paradiz centre guitar shops or peace centre guitar shops (the selegie area) should have. But I've never seen a Washburn in the flesh.

you can view the Washburns @ swee lee's sims drive warehouse.

Cort Katana: these should be made regularly avaiable here- superb guitar for the money.

I wld suggest the RGR321 too........but do keep in mind the excessive midrange in the default pickups......u may be fooled when trying. But since u are replacing them, i dun see much of a problem.....actually u can find les pauls with slim necks, one example is my friend's Burny; slim neck akin to Ibanez's Wizard II........Burnys can be found at Yamaha.....only thing is their MIC tho.....so some may be turned off buying them. Personal experience has told me otherwise however; every bit comparable to a Gibson but at more than 1/2 the price down. U cld try Orvilles(extremely rare, try www.orangeguitar.com), Grecos and Edwards(limited stock, available at Davis) and Tokai(rare also, last time i saw 1 was last yr at G77, Star Wars design). Yup my 2 cents.

Ok, updates, i have visited Davis,G77,East Side,Swee lee bras basah, city music, yamaha music, guitar connection and some other shops which i stumbled upon in Excelsior and in some random malls.anyway i went to davis , tried out some PRS SE's and i must say they felt and sounded good but the staff were not able to answer my simple questions of the type of wood used and stuff like that.unfortunately they din have the PRS SE PA at the shop and when asked if they could bring one to the shop, they were very unfriendly and spoke in a very infuriating tone.theyre doin some stuff to their warehouse or something but when i asked if i could put a deposit down to get the guitar they said can. then i went to city music, i got a POD XTL case after checking out the $35 westfield pedal bag and decided to pay $13 more for the nicer and more well made case. i checked out G77 and unfortunately they only had come old schecters in stock, some omen extremes , c-1 exotics and a c-1 with a gold top. i tried these out and felt that the PRS SE's sounded better and were more comfortable to play. didn't find anything remarkable in any of the other shops. went to swee lee next and got a white dimarzio straplock strap and some ernie balls. Tried out the Ibanez guitars and they too didn't feel as good as the PRS SE's. So in the end, decided that even though the PRS SE PA model looks pretty crap, it was my best bet even though i haven't tried it, so i went back to Davis and put down a deposit for one. it should be in at 3.30 pm tomorow so i'm gonna collect it and return to Malaysia at 6.30 pm tomorow. Thanks guys for all your help and advise. P.S. i stuffed my ritter guitar soft case in my backpack so that i didn't have to get a new one but the davis people refused to sell me the guitar without the bag.they said it will be the same price even if i dont take the bag. after much insisting, they said they would reduce the price by $20 if i don't want the bag. i was like what???$20? geez, so carried my ritter case here for nothing.... anyway thats it, any ideas of what i should do tomorow?p.s. pmed u, sub.

ooo you found your baby! must be feeling great trying everything out and managing to find that "feel"... not everyone can find their type of guitar in just a day!
and.. as usual.. the old davis rantings..

the thing is dude, i didn't get to try the PRS SE PA cos of they didnt have it in their shop. but based on the other se's it should be pretty good.

any ideas of what i should do tomorow?

quickly go home and play your new guitar :)

I called Davis the other day to query about Eclipse I, I asked "can you tell me exact model of Eclipse I in stock?" they answer "exact model is Eclipse I"....duh...

I was hoping to get exact model name like CTM VBK, VW etc. so that I can find spec.

Thats strange... Always found the Davis staff (at least Janet) to be very polite...

But Yamaha's service is really good. If just they'd stock up on other brands and not jack up the prices of their guitars and strings so much.

i take it janet is the old lady? when i said i didn't want the PRS gig bag and that i had brought my own bag, she said 'your bag lousy lah, just take this one' -.-

Janet should be the "hot chick". By the way, if you decide on something else, I don't think Davis would be too particular about it if you put the value of the deposit towards other stuff (cables, straps etc).

Ah sorry soyzabean, I should have told you to look for Janet since she's essentially the "sales rep" for PRS and is certainly knowledgable about the guitars. She was the one who sold me mine too. Oh well at least you got your guitar, now enjoy! 8)
