I have a pair of Evos on my RG350DX and a Super Disortion in the bridge on my RGR321EX.
Both guitars have basswood bodies.
The former has a tremolo and the latter is a fixed bridge model.
I play mostly through my Zoom G2.1u and Roland Jazz Chorus during jams.
I haven't tried many pickups so I can only comment on these two based on my own experience.
The bridge Evo sounds really good on the RG350DX.
A really hot, chunky, tight, modern sounding pickup.
Great for leads with the enhanced mids.
Cleans are quite pleasing to my ears, shimmery but not too bright.
The RGR321EX is a brighter sounding guitar.
I slapped on the Super D on it after referring to DiMarzio's Tone Guide, which stated that this pickup has more bass and mids.
I thought it would warm up the sound of this guitar a little but it still sounds bright to me.
Maybe it'd sound better with a 250k pot??
A very hot pickup, great for rock and metal but not as tight sounding as the Evo.
I prefer the cleans of the Evo to this one though, quite bland to my ears.
I might try swapping the 2 pickups and hear how they sound like on different guitars.
If the Evo sound as good on the 321 as it does on the 350 I'm getting myself another Evo and keep the Super D as a collector's item.
