i juz got a new neck 4 my cheapie strat copy...

i thot it wud then be perfect but it's far from perfect!the part of the body which the 4 screws r screwed in to join the neck r not of the same measurements as the holes drilled on the neck!

is ther anything tt can be done besides drilling holes at the same spots?i've thot of tt but i think it's v. tedious n i dont hav a drill bit tt size at home...

you can head down to artsfriend or other DIY shops to look for wood fillers to fill up unwanted holes before drilling new 1. As for the drill bit, the bigger drill bits are easily available in any hardware or DIY shops. or you can ask theblueark, haha.

erm,r wood fillers tt strong?i've used wood fillers in DnT class in sec 1 & 2 n they juz seem like powder which will 'freeze' after some time but still wont be strong enough...

haizz..if only i hav access to the DnT workshop now lah..can fix this prob n also scallop highest 4 frets within a dae...

well den you can use other wood 2 cut 2 exact size and hammer it in.den use wood filler to seal the remaining holes u left.scalloping can b done by juz using a round file did you noe? heehee

yeah i kno..i dont hav a round file at home..tt kinda thing v. rarely used at home 1 mah..tt's y if i hav access to the DnT workshop i can save on buying a round file...

bro only thing that will work. Go to art firend, get the solid wood dowel in the right size or slightly bigger. Put wood glue into the old hole and hammer the dowels in. After letting dry 2-3 days, redrill the new holes accordingly.

Dats the least of the problems when retrofiting necks - I shud say...height, size, width alignment are the more headache aspects...

Dats why sumtymes getting Fender licensed stuff wud usulayy ensure a good fit..most of thetyme anyways...
