I want to get an electric guitar but i don't know what to get. I don't wanna get a fenders as it is too pricey so maybe an epiphone?

These are my choices.

1. Epiphone Flying V
2. Epiphone Les Paul Standard

I like songs from Red Hot Chili Peppers, rock, metal.

Can anyone tell me which to choose in terms of the value and quality of the guitar. And tell me what colour to get!

By the way are rally guitars good? Are they expensive?

well if you're not brand conscious you could actually try many other guitars than the epiphone flying v's / les paul standard. there's actually the rally guitars, swing guitars which are quite good and should be within your budget. you can check them out at www.standardvalue.com.sg

however, if you still do insist on epiphone's, for starter's i'd definitely recommend the les paul standard as it'd feel more comfortable when you play it. comfort is definitely a must-factor you would want to consider when buying a guitar and if its your first guitar, comfort certainly takes much priority! so all in all, if you'd like an epiphone, the les paul standard's the way to go. do try as many pieces as you could before buying!

anyway.. fender mexicans strats are not that costly too! :D

ditto. Rally & Smash guitars offer a serious alternative to many of the set-neck singlecut guitars/ fender style makes out there. They are superb for the money in terms of tone & QC.

I am a Gibson and Ovation guitars user.

I currently have the Robot guitar, SG series etc.

I can just simply say that, the swing guitars are totally outpowered by the gibsons. Both in quality and value wise.

but i want to get a guitar hopefully soon and if i were to get the les paul i gotta wait much longer than if i get the flying v (i am saving, sadly unless i get 'sponsered' ). Is the flying v very far back than the les paul?
