Hey Softies, I'm contemplating on a DIY pedalboard and I wonder if anyone here knows where I can get the following components from (locally)?

-Neutrik locking jacks

-tolex covering

By the way, anyone knows where I can purchase small quantity of wood material from? :P

Thanks in advance!

Jacks - Sim lim square / tower
Tolex - A substitute will be PVC / Vinyl covering used for taxi seats (Hint, toa payoh north)
Wood - Go to flatted factory and look for pallets that are to be thrown away, scavenge them.

Then you're all good.

cool. that points me to a new direction for building my 2nd board now. THANKS MAN!

if u ever figure out tt 'powering ur pedals' system please drop me a PM. i wanna have an inbuilt pedal power supply but can't figure out

am a media student. like they say 'only know how to make tv shows, dunno how to make tvs'

You can buy a ready made power supply, which will save u the trouble.

Hide it somewhere on the board or under it.

However, you need to note that wood , does warp over time.
Especially 2 x 4s.

You might have to go for plywood which is somewhat expensive. Or if you're lucky u can find used pallets with plywood.

wow Elias... nice project you've getting on..
may i ask? what are you planning to do with the locking inputs?

You're right, lightice... can get a ready made power supply and rewire it to a IEC connector (like those computer cpu power supply style) and you can have mount the IEC connector at the side together with the input/output jacks like the pumaboards :P (but don't ask me how to do the electronics cos I know nuts! *lol*)

Anteopiz, I'm intending to have one locking input jack on one side that's gonna have a patch cable soldered to it with the other end a normal jack (so that it'll plug into whatever first pedal in the signal. Then I'll have 2 locking jacks at the output side for stereo output (same concept) with my last pedal (DD6) plugging into them.

But I think it's gonna take some time for this project lah...hahah...have to get the materials first...and yup, gonna look for plywood for a start. Time to put my secondary school days technical skills to work liao! *LOL* Of course, I'm may have to consult other gurus here for wiring/soldering, etc...

Gr3y...your DIY pedalboard/case with pull handle and wheels already so steady liao...still wanna build a new wan ah? *lol*

I'm working on one myself that is about 1/3 finished so far.

Using wood from Ikea. Go to past all the furniture shelving stuff, those are too thick. Walk till you get to near where they sell handles for drawers, in the next or next next department they have these plain pine shelving wood which are the perfect thickness. You might have to look for it a bit, it's a bit out of place and not together with all the other shelving wood.

It's relatively cheap. I think something like $9 for a board about the length and width of a misse pedalboard.
