Need a reliable external hard disk! [RANT AHEAD]

I thought i was the only one getting the clicking sounds from the 1TB Seagate drive. I bought Seagate because from what i heard, Western Digital isn't as reliable :s. I do have another Maxtor 1TB that i use for my Mac's Time Machine and it hasn't had any problems yet.

all you have to do is look at the warranty. not as if you will want to exercise it, but because the warranty is a signal of the manufacturer's confidence in its own product. also look at the price. if WD can remain the most expensive brand, and not lose business as a result, it has to mean something.
