What's a crack?

Chinese= Zao xia
English = Sing half way, the falsetto will come out...(Going out of pitch?)

Any solution please? Even if i just sing the first line which is not high(It might crack)..

I get this all the time, and I think there're 2 reasons when it happens:

1) Forcing throat voice too much, there's air in lungs, but throat cuts it out cause I try to force volume out of high pitch throat voice.
2) really, running out of breath.

I try to control this by being comfortable with falsetto, but some songs just require that "keng" squeeze-balls-and-make-painful-face voice which I'm doing wrongly anyway... =|

What notes do you crack on? Even better if you can provide a recording. There's many different ways to crack.

I wouldn't try "more support" unless you're sure you haven't got enough already. Otherwise you'll just make things worse by trying to push harder.

It's not exactly not enough air. It's mostly due to the part where you're not relaxing ur throat, and at the same time, pushing too much air through ur throat because you keep thinking of the not enough air part...

I tried this and it may help you: relax throat while singing notes, avoid using vocal fry for mid to high pitch notes. don't think too much on pushing the air through ur throat, instead, think of breathing in normally into lower lungs, and when ur singing, retain as much air in the lungs as possible while notes are being sung, don't push the air out as if giving a sigh.

yep madboy is right... the problem lies with your vocal cords if you are just singing normally. Usually is because the voice is not warmed up, or not practising enough.

But it do happens if you sing high notes and you don't have proper projection techniques...

These are 2 separate issues
