my virgin recording

did you line in the mic? anyway nice job on the standard, you should though watch ur pitch and timing at certain parts (:

yah, i line in a condenser to my toneport UX2

the timing for the singing is it? sigh, i retake so many times liao, still can't catch it, along with the pitching also. tht's wat i meant in my 1st post by needing some fine tuning

yes, it does sound "cleaner"

can tell me what did you do to take away the hissing?

what other areas for improvement?

thanks man :)

improvement on the mix but thats' cos you just started out.

improvement on your performance cos of tempo and singing. the pitch/tempo/pronounciation and feel isn't quite there.

i use cool edit (now adobe audition)'s noise reduction. which will be quite confusing for you to use as the settings is quite customized, the more "general" name you should be looking out for to apply this kind of process into your audio is called "Hiss Reduction". don't over use it though, you wanna remove NOISE/HISS,not your "sound/audio signal".

all the best!

about the mixing part, is there anywhere on the net i can read abt it. sorry to be so troublesome, i really know nuts abt mixing

most important thing is to "enjoy" the process of learning the hard way. cos it's all creativity from here on in. anything related to "art" (tattoo/photography/videography/audio/music) is a "lifelong" learning process. you study about the past (history of other ppl's trial and errors) , the present (your own) and the future (it's the Audio IT age. e.g UX2. so it'll always be constantly upgrading new technologies etc)
