ok guys..so after a series of threads,i've chosen quite a few pedals...tho some are missing like the wah pedals...

ok,so here it is...

Distortion - MI Audio Crunch Box
Overdrive - Fulltone OCD
Fuzz - Little Big Muff Pi
Chorus - Boss CE-5
Delay - Boss DD-7
Compressor - Barber Tone Press
Noise Suppressor - ISP Decimator Noise Reduction

what do you guys think?

and,is the Fulltone OCD more worth the cash as compared to the Digi Bad Monkey?

and, which one of the different versions of the fulltone OCD will give me the absolute best sounding overdrive sound? where can i buy that version and how much?

Crunchbox and the DD-7 are awesome choices. Get an external tap tempo for the DD-7 and things would be perfect. The Crunchbox is a nice high-gain pedal, pretty open-sounding even though it's got huge amounts of gain.

I'll say lose the dist, od & get a better amp. Your tone will be so/so even you own the best OD/dist pedal but played in a small amp. I believe some or most people here are doing that. Then you'll end up selling your pedals & buying another 1.

Not to discourage you.

yeah well...it'll take me extremely long to get all these..i think i'll get the od last and get a tube amp before...

The OCD to you is an Overdrive??? Have you heard the OCD??? Are you sure it's an OD??? That thing has more chugga chugga on full gain than the Crunchbox!

And what are you talking about here? Depending on the kind of tube amp you get, the OD has to go hand in hand. If it is a high gain amp, then you don't need a distortion, but you do actually need an OD. If you're getting a single channel clean amp, then you do want to have both. Otherwise you really want to play with your volume on full at home all the time?

cool choices. what amp are you gonna be running it through? the noise suppressor might not be necessary but then again it's preference. get more modulations :D ^ the OCD is an overdrive. obsessive compulsive drive? :o it does a good job of pushing tube amps.

Bro... You really need to go play more smaller amps... I just tried a Divided by 13 amp at 15 watts 6v6 that completely and utterly slays ANY large wattage amp out there... Even the 9W channel thru EL84s on that amp were killer... The tone coming from that 12" Celestion G12H was so multi-dimensional, it was like I was IN the cab hearing the tone coming out!!!!

The Mini Cooper S is a small car. That says nothing about it being not exactly slow. Get my drift???

Ok ok... then perhaps we call the OCD a high gain OD? Honestly, it sounds more like a pumped up DS-1 to me than a TS9 sound-alike...

well it definitely isn't a tubescreamer clone, but it's made to drive amps. but yes i'll agree that it's a high gain OD. don't get your analogy though. the name doesn't say that it's fast, it says it's small and it sure as hell is :D

yeah...the OCD to me is really like a distortion pedal, thats why i stated the bad monkey in my first post...

i really just want a pure overdrive with no addition whatsoever...and besides, the bad monkey is like a billion times cheaper...what do you guys think?

As in, many people think that small cars are a stereotype that means small, weak, puny and slow... Just like saying the OCD as a stereotyped OD means low gain.

don't get me wrong...i wouldn't want a high gain overdrive...i will already be getting the crunchbox and the little muff...

ahh okay. well on topic, the muff is not an overdrive, and neither is the crunchbox. also, the thing is that if you have a tube amp, you don't turn the gain high up on the ocd, that's not the point of having a drive. and imo the OCD is well worth getting over the bad monkey, if you have the cash that is. you get what you pay for really. the bad monkey is really good for its price range though.

took me 5seconds ....

Overdriving an amplifier creates distortion, so really it's the same shit for the most part. The guitar world has simply adopted the word overdrive to describe a soft distortion or to describe a pre-amp that "overdrives" the input of your main amp, which in turn causes more distortion in your main amp, which brings us back to them being the same thing again.

Distortion - MI Audio Crunch Box <-- very good choice
Overdrive - Fulltone OCD <--- meh... Bad Monkey or TS9 for boost will do the job well for gain/ volume push
Fuzz - Little Big Muff Pi <--- WIN
Chorus - Boss CE-5 <--- I prefer Visual Sound Chorus/ CE2/ EHX Small Clone
Delay - Boss DD-7 - just personal preference ... DD3/ DE7 will do, I think.
Compressor - Barber Tone Press <--- meh
Noise Suppressor - ISP Decimator Noise Reduction <-- not needed

Save cash by buying Bad Monkey and save a lot for a Tube Amp... you will reward yourself by doing that.

^imo if you're a fan of compression the tone press is one of the best out there. also what gsonique said makes a lot of sense, but still. the big muff is a fuzz and doesn't get a sound anywhere close to a distortion, and the crunchbox isn't really suitable to boost a tube amp, although it does provide an excellent distortion, it's more like a separate channel than using the amp's drive.

just get the crunchbox and a delay. seriously thats all ull ever need. i know its cool to have a board which can take u everywhere. but having a good tone is sufficient then ull spend more time working on ur playing rather than looking for pedals.

currently all im using is a crunchbox into a boss dd6.
