Hmm, was reading the GPO site tutorials, they mentioned about midi keyboards etc. Are those necessary?

You don't need a keyboard, theoretically. You can still use a mouse. But you will be greatly limited since the power of GPO and Kontakt comes from the mod wheels. Also, expression from velocity touch and pedalling is crucial if you want realistic sequencing.
