Hi Guys,
Finally, I'm stepping into the path of making a project guitar...been thinking about doing it since long time but never have the resource and time to do it....

Finally I found a good "guinea pig" and decided to start it
the guitar is a Burny Super Grade lp standard in cherry sunburst. Got this guitar from bro Aznjt last friday...

I believe it's the same guitar that I've owned in the past....before it passed down to Bloodsolo, Taytehni, etc...this is the original state :

after a daring attempt(Really salute you bro!) from Aznjt:

he burned it, chiseled it and repainted it in gold...

I wasn't planning to do anyting about it actually...but I couldn't fight my itchy hand....so I - peeled off the gold paint bit by bit
- Gave it a razor checking treatment
- used marker and pencil to create dark burn mark
- waxed it with GHS guitar gloss

this is the result :

I really like the look right now...it seems like a gold over cherry sunburst kind of relic. I've set it up to my liking...medium low action and the feedbacker works very well...

I didn't do anything to the headstock cos it seems to pretty to me...next step will be changing the bridge pickup to zebra seymour duncan JB and add orange drop capacitor....

will update this page when it's done...I'll bring this to my next gig...woohoo.....

Thanks Bro Aznjt...I had an interesting weekend

need abit comments now....should I add pickguard?should I relic the headstock as well?
Thanks a lot

w/ Luv,
Reez

WOW!! nice job bro. to me it looks fine as it is. no need to add a pickguard. but that's just one guy's opinion

Thanks for all the kind comments....I guess I'll keep it without pickguard....Now I'm a bit confused between putting a JB or an Invader....and should I change the strap pin to locking pin or just use a punk way like black duct tape...hmmm

Hahaha...DjBro....you going to tie it on your rear bumper and drag it along tanjong katong rd is it?:D But I like your maya strat...need to learn a lot from you....

Mus:It's already reliced before I got it...if it's a shiny brand new les paul..I wouldn't have done it...

Nice one. But honestly, this looks more like a piece of art rather than a relic. The damages don't makes sense. Relics technically are meant to mimic well played instruments. Not just a case of worn paint. It's where and how the paint is worn that matters. Over lay the guitar with a white piece of paper on the body. play the guitar with a pencil strapped to your pinky belt buckle and forearm. Note where the pencil marks are. That's how you get those wear marks to be accurate.

I do like what you did with the controls though... That's what I call custom!
