......

yo, thanks for the replys!
dont monitor this too often.

its obviously not worth wasting much more time being bitter about 40 bucks. but its definitly important that all the local musicians remember the power they have. you all control the stores, not the other way around. you may feel stuck when theres only one store, who's workers are shitty to you when you go there, but they are the only ones stocking your favorite heads, or sticks, or strings etc.
in that case you shouldn't just put up with them and still buy from there !
talk to the people at the shops who have the best service and honest prices to become a distributor for your favorite gear and people will naturally go there instead.
I'll definitly be getting my evans coated's from rankin sports from now on...even though its farther away.heh.
unless they get stock at drums resources (in the basement of excelsior for those not knowing) cause those guys are rad. all you drummers should be shopping there when possible so they can keep expanding.

thanks again people.

drum resources has moved to a new and bigger location already buddy!

Blk 221 Henderson Road #05-16 Henderson Industrial Park Singapore

i've bought all my skins from ranking so far, only had to buy my 14" ec2 batter from music theme cos everywhere else was sold out. let's just say that in the near future, i prolly wouldnt consider music theme when i need to get stuff for my kit.

VENGEANCE: if your boss really was the one attending to Dolmont, it'd be really screwed up. a boss and music lover (i'm assuming here) with no integrity. if your boss had no plans on sticking to his words, he shouldnt have agreed to giving Dolmont the $40 discount. he still had the cheek to scold Dolmont after, bloody shameless.

hey everyone, i work at music theme but at the electric store. Im guessing its my boss who served DOLMONT. So sorry that it happened, but he being the boss, guess that this kinda thing would happen. Pls dont be "afraid" to still come music theme after DOLMONT's experience, i promise that we'll still give the best service that we possibly can. cheers everyone!
LOL. It's kind of funny an employee would come here to apologise for his boss behavior. Because usually it's the other way round!!

Wow.

I must say that the guitar-stocked music theme has always been very nice to me and that dyed-hair chinese guy(I forgot his name, sorry)is very service orientated and helpful each time I've been there. The elderly guy has also been helpful to me and I seriously can't believe everything thats being said about them here. I had always thought that their service has always been good which is why I'd support them even though their prices are sometimes slightly higher. I mean they are themselves competing with the big 2 here who have authorised dealership here but seldom stock the products we want, so music theme gives us an option to get it from there. Obviously they have to pay more to get the products from certain brands therefore passing the higher costs to us consumers.

And its not like Ive spent thousands there over the past 4 years, I think in total only less than 600 bucks on picks, cables,an occasional pedal here and there, traveling guitar, etc etc

back when i was a drummer i did notice that items in music theme drum store are overpriced..bought most of my drum stuff in ranking.now i go to the guitar store only and the guys there are very nice.

I do find the staff in music theme very friendly and courtesy, seen them even joke with sales assitant from other store, hmmm...maybe i just say maybe is just a misunderstanding

I dont get charged over price haha. Dont go to the older man. The younger guy is better haha (for drum side) I think thier pricing is standard market value man

its sad to hear that nigel has moved, cos drummers who frequent the music hub @ peninsula/excelsior will be left hanging. although henderson is not too ulu, its still not that central :(

music retailing in singapore can still be improved much further, i don't know how many times i run up and down every week trying to find good music stuff at good prices. a lotta times i just give up and get stuff online cos its really a better deal.

that said, i'm proud of what my brothas at g77 are doing (the boss kerr is my childhood friend and rui is my vocal) .... hope everyone continue to work towards building a music heaven in sg!!

chy_92 i dont see how your criticism is constructive at all?Tell us what did they do dont just scold and run off.And why the hell would you revive a 5 month old thread.

always have had good experiences at music theme :)

Ive got to agree with visa on this :D

I dont know about the drum side, but I personally have no trouble from the guitar side.

Im only 16 and whether i walk in with my school uniform or not, the boss always welcomes me.

I communicate with him like talking to a friend.. remembered ordering a foam case from them..was laughing with him about the weight of my current hardcase..

Just my experience :D

I agree with superpotato_30 and visa too.

I had good experience with Music Theme. The guitar side, of course. The boss is very welcoming when I enter his shop. My friend who went there to buy his double pedals had no hassle buying them. I think they are reasonable. ;)

They are moving to G77's previous place(in front of GC) right?. I saw them moving on Friday.

I'm just gonna reiterate what i said in another thread

WHATEVER GRIEVANCES YOU HAVE WITH THE STORE DOES NOT JUSTIFY A NEED TO MAKE ACCUSATIONS ON A PUBLIC FORUM. YES, WHAT THEY DID MIGHT BE WRONG (WE DON'T KNOW). BUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS ALSO WRONG.

if the store really is at fault, why do you give them an opportunity to take legal action on you for these allegations? why do you give them the satisfaction of being able to ultimately put you in the wrongdoing?

WAKE UP. "SHARE EXPERIENCE" MY ASS

and please leave dead threads to rest in peace.

well, its singaporean to complain.....and most ppl wouldnt wanna take legal action, singaporean mentality= its too expensive for sth small like 40 bucks.

If its in the States, different story. Entirely a different context altogether.

I went there (GUITAR ONE) when I was choosing a first guitar. I asked if I could try the guitars and the salesman was like 'are you interested in it or not?' then 'Are you going to buy or not?' When I said maybe he said no so I just left. $150 guitar oso cannot try. Look down on me cos I'm rather short and in uniform...

The guitar side at Music Theme were very nice when I wanted to repair my guitar. My Whammy bar got stuck and broke at Davis (long story) and when I went to Music Theme to repair it, they were kind enough to explain it was impossible. They offered to replace the bridge for a price but I only bought the bridge and did the replacement myself. They were quite helpful in telling me how to DIY it as well..

maybe just a bad experience once? The long haired guy at the guitar part was very friendly and I enjoyed talking to him
