Hahhaa late la bro you were 4th in queue i think. Something tells me i sold at too cheap @.@

Just had this pissed off deal not long ago. I had to deal at his convenience but deal got to cancel in the end.

Here goes the story. I am selling my yamaha guitar which is discontinued, fg340. It is made in the 80s. The deal transaction was negotiated from 300 to 240, AND I HAvE TO DEAL AT HIS CONVENIENcE!

I travelled from hougang to khatib, which is the supposedly dealing area. Took bus to take train in order to reach khatib station, traveling at adults price. So when I reach khatib, he told me that he is at some hospital. Which means, I have to travel and meet him for this deal. Wow, I spent 4 bucks or more just to travel and meet him.

So he test the guitar, true enough prrobably I didnt state the condition clear because I expect every softies to know the meaning of discontinued and vintage acoustic. Fg340 is a taiwan piece and not indonesia. What happens is that he even commented if I am trying to make him angry upon dealing the bad guitar with him. And, come on deal a bad guitar? Do your research man, made in 1980s, how good do u want it to be? I did not say that, but because he commented that he expect it to be in good condition like new, that's why it came to my mind..

Not only that, of course I got pissed because I travel all the way, and he already telling me that he wantts to not deal. Being a seller who travelled so far and even gave such big discount, to experience such cancellation of deal serious sucks. Ok fine, so I ask what's the price he wish to deal? His answer is 120bucks. Seriously, what the heck? Even a bad condition lower end yamaha, no offense to thnose using f310, ya bad condition f310 dont even cost lower than that.

Ok, so Im not willing to sell. But as I keep the guitar, the buyer did not say anything, walk off wihout a word of apology, but said WaTEVER!! Pissed or not?

Ahhh... It's just one of those things ya..
That's why it's always deal at my convenience and at my place for must test gear or my nearest mrt.

I had one incident where i was selling a wah pedal. The guy told me he wanted to test so i welcomed him to my home for a test. The guy showed up with his friend at my place. tested the pedal, requested if he could take a look inside the pedal to look for any unwanted mods as he wanted a stock pedal. I opened up the wah. He inspected, had a 2nd opinion with his friend and said that the pedal is indeed stock. i then fixed it back and he tested some more. He played for like 30 mins or so and finally said " It does not sound like the one i tested at swee lee. This one sounds rather thin and i like the one at swee lee better ". He passed on the deal and wasted almost an hour of my time.

Good thing that it was done at my place or i would have given the guy a piece of my mind. He didn't take into consideration on the amp, efx and guitar he was using to test the pedal with. He wanted a fat tone but how could he come close to high gain humbucker tone by using my deluxe strat in S1 mode with 3 x CS69's vintage voiced pups through a VOX AC15 Heritage. Nothing like a real set of buckers for the fatness right?

Well, all is still good and sold the pedal the next day on a no hassle quick deal to another buyer.

I was kind enough to lend him my screwdriver to open up the wah. He inspected, had a 2nd opinion with his friend and said that the pedal is indeed stock. He then fixed it back and tested some more. Hes an old apek!
I saw a ten dollar note in his wallet but he decided to give me coins.....

Btw, i live near the xinmin primary school.
You?

Even if you wanted the stuffs to be delivered like a Pizza Hut, you have to put a deposit through credit card !

But Pasta Mania, Mc Donalds deliver by COD terms :P haha

But I'm totally with you on that man. It's as important for you, as it is for the potential buyer, to SEE, FEEL and LISTEN to what he is buying before he buys it, and its only fair that he comes to where the item is placed (which 99% of the time is the seller's house / studio). Can you imagine taking a drumkit over to a seller's house for him to 'try'?

firstly i don't see why you gave discount and yet still have to meet to his convenience.. you're being too nice.

and also i guess it's just a misunderstanding on both parties. you can't blame him cos' you can't expect people to know what a vintage guitar is supposed to look like.. right? well there ARE dumb people on this earth. just gotta accommodate them.

:)
