Monte Allums Pedal Mods! & need tong-pang!

Oooh. Guess it beats Monte's?
Hmm. there's the DS-1 Live and Live Turbo. Which do you prefer?
Oh, I don't really understand what "Increased Distortion Power" means. Both mods sell at the same price.

Could someone explain the difference?? Does it mean heavier distortion(metal)? Or... :)

Ahh, MIJ.. $$
But your preferance on DS-1 mods is still on Mike's Live mod yeah?

And Jazzit_man! answerr meeee!! which mod was urs??

Well, if I wanted a standalone dirt tone but with a DS1 kind of vibe, I would take the analogman mod.

but I'm a stacker, so it was a no-go for me. The stock MIJ does it for me.

I owned an MIJ DS-1 which had the Monte Allums Rectifier Mod. I haven't heard what it sounded before the mod but all I can say is that the DS-1 can give those classic rock tones. Plug this into a good amp and it'll be sweet.

But seriously I wouldn't reccommend the trouble of getting the Monte Allums. It didn't really blow me off my feet.

Okay, thanks ShredCow andDwarfstars!
I'm going for a stand-alone distortion! So I guess it'll be either Mike's or Analog man's mod for me!

Say, I wanna send my pedal for modding. I know I can have mine Mike-modded at Standard value, but what about Analog Man's? That not local yeah?

HUH. How come got so many Mikes!?!?? :smt044 :smt044

Okok. There's Analogman, and theres Mikes at http://www.standardvalue.com.sg/modification.htm.

I'm confuusseedd! Okok. Can someone recommend me a good DS-1 mod, used for stand-alone distortion, available locally, and can use my own Ds-1!!?

please? :)

I was looking at Standard value's Mike's mod.

I strongly suggest you go down and hear for yourself how the pedal sounds like before committing yourself to anything. Regarding mods, there's Randolf as well. He can tell you alot lot more about mods and options and can help you narrow down to what you really want.

wahahahahaha.. shredcow, i think we are talking about different "Mike"

Reth, I used to have monte ds-1 mod(normal) then changed to monte (rectificier) and change again to mike mod live turbo

let me give you some reviews,

Monte ds-1 (normal) a little more clarity than stock, sounds more metallic.
Monte ds-1 (rectifier) even more metallic sound than normal mod, i think (normal) sounds better.
shipment will be about 2wks if you choose standard shipment.

Mike mod "Live" smooth distortion tone, very unique tone with punch.
Mike mod "Live" turbo, same tone like "live" with treble reduced about 20% for more variations, Hell lots of gain (heard is request by paul danial), i normally dont turn it to full.

Go down try it, cause different people will have different taste.

Okay, thanks jazzit_man! So means u now own Mike's Live Turbo yeah? cool. Hehe, I like gainnn..

I guess it'll me Mike's mod for me!
Ok, I'll go down to woodlands and check it out!
Hmm, for 60 bucks, can they mod it in a day? Or gotta wait

Hey Reth, I see you made your mind up with Mike's mod huh? You wanna exchange and compare sound clips once I'm done with my monte's?

My MT-2 kit finally came and guess why it took damn long to come...I got a chop "Missent to Jakarta, Indonesia" on the envelope. Blardy....

Uh, not that kind of gain lah. Not metal xP Just nice, high, smooth gain..

wasp; Yeah, we could exchange.. For your Metalzone?
Wow. Thats very strange. How the heck could it have gotten there.. :?:

Oh, okok sure. Keep in touch then! But I won't be doing it that soon, probably after 17 dec  busy busy..
