minor wound..will applying salt make it worse?

If you're going for disinfecting a wound, I would swear by alchohol. Cord spirit would do. :twisted:

When I don't have cord spirit handy, some Jim Beam or Jack Daniels works fine in an emergency too. :lol:
 
Contrary to what you see on TV about people pouring alcohol on wounds, we don't do that on open wounds.

Yeah, when in pain and it won't seem to go away, just down a lot of jack daniels and you'll feel the pain numb away :lol:
 
For any wounds first thing to do is to apply direct pressure for the bleeding to stop. Once it has stop apply normal saline(if have) or just use normal tap water to clean the wound. Cover the wound up with a sterile dressing(plaster, gauze, melolin, etc...) and let the natural healing process take place.

Introducing alcohol or sea-water will only introduce germs to the wound which may lead to infections.
