wat's this V neck n other neck types?

this refers to the rear curvature of the neck, which comes is different profiles. here's how a V-cross section looks like:

notice how it gets pointed towards the centre- some people swear by this v-profile eg: Clapton, as it helps him hook his thumb over the neck's edge. some people dislike the protrusive feel, it somehow feels uneven & affects their playing. the very reason that this profile still exists today is because it's still appealing.

oh,ok...apart from V-neck,r ther anymore types of necks?

some neck profiles & guitar brands:

D-profile: namely on thin necks eg. Ibanez but also featured on guitars which sports a rather flat rear eg. PRS (selected makes) wide thin necks. can also be felt on Gibson's slim taper 60s neck.

C-profile: rounded, more traditional, most Fenders sport this profile

U-profile: somewhat similar to the D, but more material on the neck's edges. prefered profile on many early Fenders, recently made a comeback on the 50th Anniversary models.

sub......do you type on profile on Squire Tele standard?? It's thick but easy to play....I would love to see if that neck would fit on strat.

Sorry for saying this , this is the most awful looking guitar I ever seen , but it is only my own view , just writing my thoughts here , sorry

moggie.... u own one of these?

Art is a subjective topic....

But I gotta say looks and sound are important factors.

U sure dun want a guitar that looks good and sound bad nor
a guitar that looks bad and sound good.

my 2 cents..
