Anyone have any insights to share between the 2 japanese stratocasters?

I m deciding on which one to get.

Only key diff is the maple vs rosewood fretboard and the shape of the neck.

Owners...please advise.

Many Thanks.

R there any dif with the pup?

If im rite, the numbers like ST-43, or ST-58 represet the price in yen. Like 43,000 yen or 58,000 yen.

(1) body wood
(2) choice of pickups

ST43 - basswood , fender japan pickups

ST58 - ALDER body(classic fender brightness), VINTAGE- pups modelled after a real 1958's pickups.

the Aerodyne (strat/ tele/ bass) series are all superb instruments for the asking price 8) . you can read about them in the reviews section...

to writer, check out this website.

http://www.ishibashi-music.com/fenderjp/

its a japanese guitar shop called Ishibashi. the site have all the info u need abt the two strats plus lots more. i was in japan in march and get to check out two of their shops. the price was way lower than here in singapore. but that's in japan. they let u order direct too. all the info are in the site. remember to click on "How To Order In English". unless u read Japanese. i love the ST68 they have. just like jimi's. and i guess their ST54 is an unofficial clapton series.

ps: wonder if 77th got their MIJ from them...

Thanks.... I know Ishibashi all too well.... and I owned MIJ guitars b4....

just not the 57 or 62...

Problem is I m not too keen on vintage frets. But Fender Japan only
make reissues with vintage frets...

i second sub on the 70s classic series strats, used to own one in 3 clr sunburst. beautifully made stuff..sounds pretty good(on a nice amp not mine).

there was a consolidated Ishibashi here not long ago, organized by brother stars.
hmmmmm... what do u mean by consolidated Isibashi? does it mean u guys consolidate interested buyers and order stuff from them together? or is it something else altogether?

the people who come across the 70s re-issue all have nothing but praise for this guitar. at least the one who i talked to... 8)

Anyone knows how much the MIM 70s reissue is going for at Swee Lee?

Sub.... you know much of the MIM Jimmie Vaughan Signature model? I read rave reviews of that guitar... Vintage model with a blend of modern touch.... 9.5 radius, med jumbo frets etc.

the Classic Series 70s model lists for $1,650...

i can't remember the JV strat price- apologies... but i've tried that guitar before, fantastic tone but i dislike the V-neck profile...

wat's this V neck n other neck types?

Hi, if u can try a G&L strat... Its was also made by Leo Fender after he sold fender away. I think the price r comparable to a MIM Strat. But not too sure anyone sells them here
