Mic Mixer vs Mic PreAmp

Tks buddies. I think I'll settle with a simple Yamaha MG82CX or MW8CX W/USB (but not sure if it is USB1.0 or 2.0) and see if I like the sound. Any good suggestion for a mic mixer with small footprint with FX and below S$300?

Are you trying to do recordings? What is your requirement? How many audio inputs do you need?

Not really, I just trying to do some unplugged jamming at home like what Mr Big were doing. Sometimes may also do some karaoke that's all. I also thinking of the powered PA like the Yammies MSR100 but kind of doubtful about 8" drivers. I think I like the RCF ART310A best but too expensive to start with.

icic, ya, you should be looking at a PA system. Cost range from $500 to $1000.

City Music has this Wharfedale PM 600 SYSTEM which I remember was quite affordable. You might wanna check it out.

bro, wanna experience/hear the difference? go to Adelphi #04 & look for shop name Jaben pro, there is chap who let u test mics w mixer & pre-amp, make a comparison, at least you experience it.

IMO, pre-amp is the most impt part in the line of amplification, just after the mic. The rest will be easy if u get the first line of amplification correct.

Mixer pre-amp is ok, mic pre-amp is dedicated.

have fun!

Can someone tell me what's the diff? Do they use together or either one?

Tks.
