metalcore is a growing genre..why is that?

metalcore? issit the black eyeliner, black fingernails kind of thing? because this primary sch fren of mine kept on blogging about 'OH I WENT HERE N HERE WITH MY METALCORE MATES' ..and the pictures are 'ME N MY METALCORE & SOME HARDCORE FRIENDS'. yadda2
a7x is the shiit. i dont hate them even after the release of city of evil... but the vocals might be abit funny for them... but well, the music they play is hard to catch...
n tho i dun really listen to metalcore much... it's still a genre... n perhaps its the next emo..

and i know this kid who says bleeding through is emo because 'bleeding' is the name... tsktsktsk

Hmm tough guy image. IMO, the bands that fit in that category would be Full Blown Chaos, Hatebreed and Sworn Enemy. For Bleeding Through maybe a bit too much eyeliner.
Now to that eyeliner thingy. It's like a confused goth who got really angry and turned hardcore overnight. :lol: Bands like Bleeding Through, Atreyu, It Dies Today, Avenged Sevenfold..they all like look the same. Sometimes even their music. Half the time they may even look like Good Charlotte. :lol: Hmm let's put it this way, Black Metal = Corpse Paint is to Metalcore = Eyeliner.
Well to me not all metalcore bands are bad. Try to at least listen to their song structures, and some of them are not as easy to play as you think. Bands like Killswitch Engage and Lamb Of God. For Killswitch Engage try to check their songs Self Revolution and Vide Infra. Both of these songs are from their debut album, Alive Or Just Breathing.
Lamb Of God, not exactly a metalcore band. Even they themselves said their an American Metal band. Plus their music is so much different from the eyelinercore bands. Technical offbeat riffs, machine like double pedals and very political lyrics. So don't expect any heartbreak songs from them. But if they do make a song like that, then theres gotta be some serious problem somewhere. Some say that most of their songs sound the same but did those people ever tried to play one of them? To really appreciate their technical skills, check out As The Palaces Burn, Laid To Rest, Hourglass and 11th Hour. These are just to name a few.

it IS all abt the image in metalcore. 80% of metalcore bands r full of image shit. some bands tho can b alrite..they r ok. bt most..itz just the style thtz a turnoff. the fusion is reli some experiment gone wrong. the only thing i listen to if itz a metalcore song is the drumming.
Metalcore is a separate style by itself, just like Nu Metal. They r not Metal.

ya, eyeliners don't make some1 look fierce...i listen 2 metalcore(especially a7x) is because of their music n not because of their looks, there's tons of ppl out there who listen 2 metalcore because they look "fierce" n dont know a shit about the music...IMO these kids would spoil the image of metalcore like emo kids have done 2 emo music....

I personally don't think Lamb Of God is Metalcore. They sound way different from metalcore bands. Most of the vocals in metalcore music have singing but however LOG's vocals are different. The guitar riffs are so heavy and drum beats are so technical. I really wouldnt want LOG to be in the metalcore category. Just my personal opinion

Like I mentioned in the previous post. They're best fitted in the American Metal genre. Alongside bands such as Shadows Fall, Chimaira, God Forbid etc.

Ah fook it. It doesn't matter what genre it is. At the end of the day it's either your gonna listen to it or you don't. So like the other guy said, go fish. 8)
I think it's getting really tough for metalcore not to be appealing with great music coming from musicians like Killswitch Engage, God Forbid and Trivium. Have you guys heard Trivium? Very very technical guitar playing.
I don't care what Lamb Of God is man, I just love their stuff to death and definitely the vocals. My god, that god has one hell alot of stamina and pitch man.
