Marshall Guv'nor vs Mi Audio Crunch box

Crunchbox is basically a modded DS1. I used to own a Crunchbox & Randolf's modded DS1. Practically sounds the same. Just that Cruchbox has more gain.

I have a guvnor but I am not so sure of selling it. Heard that the crunchbox is good at capturing the marshall distortion. Should I sell my guvnor and get the crunchbox or remain with the guvnor?

i use a combination of the guvnor and a jackhammer to get my marshall sound when i cant drag my amps to the gig location haha .

Try the crunchbox & compare. No use hearing. must try.....Your amp will also makes a difference in tone with a crunchbox too...

To get that Marshall tone, pedals that I've considered :

1. Marshall Guv'nor

2. MIJ Boss DS-1

3. Homebrew Electronics Big D

4. Radial Tonebone Hot British Distortion

Pedals that I never got the chance to try :

5. MI Audio Crunchbox (out of stock)

6. Menatone King Of The Britains (no dealer)

Ended up with the Boss DS-1! Cheap and goooooood!

yea... i got this answer from you fellas haha
i think either a Guv or a MIT (mod) DS-1 .

is beez mod the same result??

i like the Guvnor+ due to its ability to replicate that Plexi cream without costing a bomb. it can manifest that honky Brian May sound as well with the help of a mild drive booster pedal. the pedal often overlooked for the Marshall cream:

the Beez mod offers the original DS-1 tone in one mode & some bottom end boost in another.

Exactly.. I Refrain from buying AMT and Digitech pedals due to this very feature..
I prefer either a 3 band EQ or a single tone knob; nothing in between..
But of course, everyone's ideal tone is different right?
Maybe I can get that crunchy tone easily due to my SG..

glad to know i'm not the only one sentimental about the midrange control- but i do own some pedals which are devoid of this (an implication that they're worth it).
