Marshall 10watts! recommendations

actually second in my list is the laney series. but i have not tried the roland cube personally myself... Hmm seems im a kiddo with no money den he only test for free jamming.

btw. hmm about the speaker sizes 8inch and bigger ..what will it do. enlighten me please

Good Morning.
eeh . hmm about roland cubes. aha i relaly wanted it but kinda short of funds which is impossible to get within 3months.Ive also heard alot of good reviews on the net and it DOES take pedals well. but the onboard effects is also not so bad after all. but to get this amp. i have to wait and save up to 2 to 3 months. just to reach the 260 limit.

But something stucked in my mond is about this KUSTOM amplifiers. im not so shure about these TUBE PREAMPS but im afraid it mught be sucky. still need owners of these kustom TUBE12 Combo Tech. it was cheap at davis. And with a 12 inch celestions. HMM... but another problem about this is. HOW DO I CONTROL THE MIDS? omg. theres only high and lows. seems that i need an equaliser? hmm. and is this amp pedal friendly?

LOL but ive kicked out marshall on my list. So which one?!
" Hey farhanians! you can try out the SX 10watt amp! its the best!"
Thanks in advance:-D

okay i have no idea abt the kustoms, but abt the tube preamps, its a marketing gimmick. i really feel theres absolutely no point in putting a preamp tube in the circuit. do not expect tube amp tones just because of that one 12ax7.

its through personal experience, i own a vox valvetronix series amp. it still sounds solid statish.

+1 to that. Tube preamps with a solid state ouput is more of a gimmick than anything else. You wont get a tube breakup as you crank the amp with a mere tube preamp and a solid state rectifier....its no more than a gimmick like most tube pedals.

Hmm guess preamps are just as good as solid states.
Btw the Dart series i think they are quite functional with all the eq. and the effects too
but one thing that pulled it down is due to the 6.5inch speaker. Hmm is it really that bad?
Will the 6.5inch get overdriven easyly at high volumes?
im in my bedroom and always below 5. is that ok?

btw. im not buying roladn mircrocube YET due to funds:eek:

Pretty true.. Can't stand hybrids..

Hey dudelove, you've not tried the NEWER Vox VT series, not ADxxVT, but VTxx.. They sound really really good, much better than the ADxxVT.. Very tubish I might add..

For TS, Marshall solid states are really horrid amps for the money.. They are just for tricking people into believing you can obtain the Marshall tone with them.. Try avoiding the MG series and AVT series if you can; disastrous cleans and a weak drive section.. Their high end units though pretty much tear through everything..

If you're on a budget, go for:
Vox DA series (VT if possible)
Roland Cube series
Sound Drive amps

but another problem about this is. HOW DO I CONTROL THE MIDS? omg. theres only high and lows.

for some pedals with such eq tonestack, the mids will come from reducing/adjusting the treble/bass control.

i guess the amp has something like that as well.

if wanna find out more, google for baxandall tonestack

You can also add a Vox Pathfinder 10W/ 15W in your list. This handles pedals very well and the cleans are terrific.

dude, all amps have preamps.

u couldnt have said it better. the avt is the worst seriously. i got so freaking angry with it at a jamming studio once i didnt want to play anymore. the on board reverb was the one that broke my last straw.. hahaha

and abt the VT series, yes, i hadn't had the time to head down to try it. sadly, i realised that i should have waited for it to come out. but its okay lah, for home use, the ADvt series bonds well with my pedals to get tones that are pleasing to my ear.

so TS, yeah maybe u could consider the VT series. i think the 15watt one might cost only slightly above 200. and the on board effects are pretty cool. the ADvt i have has very decent reverb and delay actually.

I meant Tube Preamps.

btw i think 200 is over my budget ouhh . btw nobody answerd about the 6.5inch speakers. will they do any good?

oh but what u said is not very true also. in a tube amp there are many preamp tubes, sometimes up to 5. just one preamp tube will make no difference as poweramp tubes also, are another major factor.

abt the 6.5 inch speaker, dont expect to be playing heavy metal out of that speaker. u just will not have enough headroom.

u should slowly save up dude. even know the cash flow is slow, u should be patient and i tell u. its worth it.

hahahahah bump it everyday!!

Lol.. That'd be cheating! It doesn't matter though.. Those who read the guide, don't be afraid to spread the guide around as well..

I wrote it to help others, will also reduce the traffic since certain questions are already answered and so a new thread need not be started!

exactly. its quite irritating to answer the same questions over and over again sometimes.

i feel like doing a thread for beginners advising them on what are good recommendations and how to choose a guitar an amp, and maybe pedals. since there are SO many threads title "beginner looking for electric guitar. recommendations?"

but then again, i'm kinda lazy.

Have a pretty good idea which studio you are talking about.... :D
