Chk out Blackhawk from Gretsch too ... one of the better sounding entry-level drums
I prefer the Mapex voyager drum kit, It has full sized drums and comes with Remo Ut heads. The drums are perfectly playable and sounds very good even with the stock heads, Furthermore, it comes with cymbals and stands.
Having helped a customer to sell one Voyager before, i am very impressed by the sound, hardware, durability of it.

yea edrummer. I was that kid who bought that voyager from you . Still really impressed by the sound.... although its an entry level kit, just throw in some o-rings or moongel and they will sound super awesome. So much attack , tone and even resonance despite the mounting system.
