agreed, it will be interesting to see Cantona back at Man Utd. but i don't see CQ going out yet. maybe after a few years more.

He's actually much closer to exiting MU than most think. Sources say he's almost ready to move after the contract was finalised and he may actually go in th coming days. Another MU man i have immense respect for, been serving under SAF for a long time now, and he's been the behind-the-scenes man and is actually very central to MU's recent successes, not least the signing of Ronaldo. Haha if Cantona goes back, all i can say is that its too bad he won't be on the pitch, but it might be interesting to see if he scissir-kicks fans again, especially since he will be much closer to them, thus increasing probability. We shall see.

images people!

loldude333, is right. CQ's exit is by far THE most true story regarding ManUtd so far. it is said he'll be offerred 1.2million pounds a year.

i'd say all the best to him.

dime: talking to yourself ah? but, confirm the kick hurt.

i meant you replying to yourself. nvm.

seriously, it be wonderful if cantona comes in. he'll be able to show ronny something about loyalty.

Hunter claims United interest

Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has told Dutch media that he dreams of a potential move to United.

The highly-rated 24-year-old claims that the Reds have voiced an interest in securing his services, following his decision to reject a new contract at the Amsterdam giants.

"I know certain English clubs are following me, like Manchester United, who are very interested in me,' he said.

"I love clubs with great history like Ajax. I also love United. They are a club that make me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy did great things with them."

Huntelaar, nicknamed 'The Hunter', scored 36 goals in 39 appearances last season as Ajax finished runners-up in the Eredivisie.

bro dime, i posted this report already! haha...

anyway all the best to CQ if he goes! as mentioned, he's always the behind-the-scenes person, and is contented with not being in the limelight.

Calderon: United should let Ronaldo go

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes Manchester United should be 'happy and proud' to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club in what he believes would be 'the transfer of the century'.

Calderon was set to meet United chief executive David Gill today, with the Premier League side expected to issue an official 'hands off' warning to Real.

Yesterday the Real president seemingly conceded defeat in his attempts to capture the Portugal winger after admitting it would be difficult to convince United to sell.

But 24 hours later he told Spanish newspaper AS that it was Ronaldo's wish to join his club and the English champions should allow him.

Calderon said: 'I think that, first of all, it's the desire of the player (to join us), but, of course, Manchester shouldn't be angry and they should open up their stance.

'We can't be blamed if nearly every player wants to come to Real Madrid. If I was Manchester United I'd be happy and proud to be able to negotiate such a transfer for one of my players.

'Everything would be a lot easier if United realised that they could pull off the transfer of the century.'

Calderon appeared confident a deal could still be reached, as he believes that if a player wants to leave then there is little a club can do to stop him.

But he again insisted the Spanish champions would not act on their interest until United agreed to talks.

Calderon continued: 'It depends on the player, on Ronaldo. Since I've known football it has been the case that the desires of the footballer are what decide matters.

'If Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester, he'll leave. If he wants to stay, he'll stay.

'I don't think you can keep anyone in a place where they don't want to be, not even in a family.

'But I insist that for a formal negotiation to start Manchester United will have to open their doors to us. Manchester have to want to talk.'

On Ronaldo's ankle injury Calderon added: 'At the moment that is something which should only concern the player and United.'

The Real chief admitted there was no plan B should the club fail prise Ronaldo away, insisting there would be no 'comings and goings' this summer.

That includes reported Chelsea target Robinho, who Calderon claims the club are not willing to sell.

'We have no intention of making any little touches to the squad, no comings and goings,' he said.

'The squad is young and it's fine as it is. There is no negotiation going on at the moment for Robinho to leave the club.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------

this Calderon is really bent on prising Ronaldo away from Man Utd. and his comments can change after just 24 hours.

Aiyah, that Calderon guy is a moron lah. If Real Madrid wanted to buy a player, they would put in a bid - same as any other club for any other player.

Calderon is just saving his arse because it looks like they won't be buying any players and he is just using Ronaldo to keep the fans hyped up.

Would Real Madrid sell Ramos or Casillas? Which club would put a price for a player that they don't want to sell? The right thing to do is to put in a bid. But Calderon doesn't want to do that because if he fails, the fans will be after his backside.

Take note that barely 24 hours ago, prior to making this most recent statement, he had already resigned to not being able to sign Ronaldo. Fast forward and now he makes this statement.

His words cannot be accepted as the truth. Make no mistake!

Man Utd encouraged to go for Tottenham's Berbatov
tribalfootball.com - July 10, 2008

Manchester United are set to step up their bid for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

With reports today that Spurs have struck terms for Espanyol centre-forward Luis Garcia, it will be seen as a green light by United to try again for Berbatov.

After experiencing frustration over the situations of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Queiroz, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will welcome the chance to excite fans this summer with a bid for long-term target Berbatov.

good or bad? personally, i feel berbatov's style doesn't quite fit ManUtd's current style of play. but, he is the targetman that the devils need. so yeah.

i agree with RoRK. latest news is that ronaldo is agreeing with blatter that he shouldn't be held back against his will.

if ronaldo goes...he will be an IDIOT..albeit a very rich one..
ungrateful third bus..

i've got no respect for such players..be like Cantona..he retired at his peak..that's CLASS
