He was frozen out of the Madrid team by Capello. Only after the owners and fans stepped in did Capello bring him back to the team. By that time, he had signed for Galaxy. Of course his wife had a lot to say about the family moving to the USA.

He's still a quality player. The only pity is the opposition that he faces.
